ELO

Funnily enough, with the amount of shite soft rock radio stations I'm subjected to listening too when in the car, there's been quite a few ELO tunes played - though (disappointingly) mostly Mr Blue Skies (good tune, but give it a rest!).

Night Train To London was a fav of mine, as was The Diary of Horace Wimp and Don't Bring Me Down (Bruce) - (Steve Bruce??? lol)

Of course I'll completely deny this conversation took place within the Morrissey circles I move in ;)

Some quality songs from ELO, Jeff Lynne deserves a lot of credit for writing and arranging, excellent musician too.

Btw, interested to see 10CC are doing small club gigs, August and September, always a good night out.

How have I missed this thread? ELO were MY band growing up. Not a popular choice as most of my peers were into The Police and other more hip bands but I liked these regardless. I've got Out of the Blue on blue vinyl, Mr Blue Sky on blue, Sweet Talkin' Woman on purple, On the third Day on clear and lots of other coloured, limited editions.

They toured a couple of years ago, without Jeff Lynne, and I went to the Opera House. On my own. Wife wouldn't come but I had a great night. I know...

Personal favourtes, Confusion, Rockaria, Summer and Lightning, Wild West Hero, Don't bring me down and Living' Thing.

Once Le Tour highlights are over me, YouTube and a bottle of merlot are set for the night. Cheers OP and all contributors. Great thread.

Love ELO

Because it's 4 years old and bumped up today for whatever reason!

Glad it was ;-)
Although its a bit odd to read posts from when you were four years younger.
