Didn’t alienate me, but I’m probably not a super fan like you, so that’s the entire fan base minus 1

Some genuinely just wanted to hear it(admitting the mistake and an apology) with some explanation. Some people have already decided how they are going to take whatever is said, no matter what, which makes it a pointless exercise even reading it.

Same with the(I assume) video message to the wider fanbase when it comes. Picked apart and spun into a negative, "not sincere enough" etc.

People are free to do that though if it helps them get over it. They should just not make the mistake of trying to speak for everyone though, as tends to happen when emotions are high.

OK let's assume that Mr Perez is telling fibs when he says:

"The Manchester owners have started a campaign of manipulation, that we will end the leagues. I will not say which club."

Let's assume we went in with no subterfuge in mind. What would you have done had Real Madrid, Barcelona, Man Utd etc said we are exiting the CL. In or out? I would say out but not for your reasons. I say out because it was doomed to fail. But had it had a chance you would be obliged to accept or we'd soon be 2nd rate. That is an argument against the ESL but an argument to be in it. And no that's not a contradiction.

As for the ‘stakeholders’ bit, when our own Department for Education (or it could be of Education this week, they do like to change it) says stakeholders when talking about pupils what can we expect! Can you imagine a 5 yr old stakeholder?

Having said that it’s done now. It has left me with a nasty taste and a heavy heart for the future of the team I have supported for 67 years but it won’t stop me fighting to the end! I’m a Blue I will never give in. :-)

You’ve been going longer that me, I’m but a babe in arms, we were obviously put in a difficult situation I’d like to think they did what they thought was best for the club, as a retired MD sometimes you’ve got to react when the bullets are flying, I’ll probably never know all the ins and out, but no real damage done.

I’m only on my 3rd flounce and I’ve not stamped my feet yet, hearing the CEO’s of the red shirts is making me feel sick though.
