Empty seats.. worsening trend?

Not sure if this has been mentioned and I missed it but I saw a message at the last match which said everyone attending today would get an extra 20 points. I presume they will do that by checking the electronic info at the turnstile.

Great idea and if done regularly that will help stop those that buy a season ticket just for the 'big' games.
It wouldnt stop anyone from buying a season ticket just for the big games. If there was such a mythical person I doubt they could care less about loyalty points.

Tim, might try that Bayern approach for the coach mate. Loads of members doesn't equate to a full bus, same as seasoncard holders I suppose.
Long story short, people have different requirements. I can't say to prospective members you must go to x amount of games to be a member of our club, would be nice, but it can't be done.

I take their money in the hope that they will be interested enough to A) go to games and B) go on the coach. If they don't go to A or B then I have to accept their membership and grudgingly accept that they wont go to any more than 2 or 3 games a season and that's being optimistic for some.

Different strokes for different folks.

Maybe even take away the renewal points if a certain number of games haven't been attended.

It'd be a compromise to the Bayern idea which people have been suggesting, in my opinion it wouldn't be wise to start kicking people out of their seats as there's no way we'd be able to sell out at 55k.
Why shouldnt people be rewarded for committing £600+ to the club, no questions asked, at the start of the season?

The way people are talking they're the worst people in the world.

They've paid for the seat for 19 league games, loyalty points are used by the club for extra games in the cup, aways and finals. I'm not suggesting their right to attend the league games should be revoked but at the same time they shouldn't be rewarded with an easy final ticket if they've only been to the derby.

The 19 games they've agreed to pay for is enough of a reward.

Trying to buy tickets on the site for the upcoming FA cup game on my mobile and it's pretty much impossible. Every time I try and enter my quantities of tickets in the box it takes it back to Zero. So maybe that's why we have empty seats, because buying tickets is frikkin impossible !!!

I gave up trying

Hi Bob. The ticket booking is very hot and miss on a mobile and the Club should sort this out. It always works for me when I book on a laptop or PC!

Sadly I only have my phone Tim but this needs addressing because think of all the other fans trying to buy who like me just gave up ?

The problem isn't down to fans missing individual games here and there, yes will be some but odd seats scattered about empty but these wouldn't particularly show up mixed in with 45K used ones.

The problems are the complimentary tickets & Vivago. The club should be able to gauge if they will be able to shift comps for 'lesser games' and put them in the pot for fans to buy if they can't. Tickets not being sold has an impact on ALL our prices.

Secondly, Vivago needs binning along with the practice of giving them seats to sell direct from the club. These tickets are mainly in the gods but should still be stopped. I assume the MCFC contract with Vivago means they will get xx tickets per game as a guarantee.

It's not working and the smart move would be to pay them off and set up a straightforward no profit making system where genuine no-shows could sell tickets. I'm always concerned if my lad's ticket (RAF) is passed onto someone I don't know as a ban can occur very easily these days. I normally use BM to sell but have now got a couple of regular lads who use it from here. I'd never use Vivago as the price inflates and tickets seem to remain unsold unless a really big game.

Are you suggesting that we live in a democracy lol! I see the coach travel more akin to Cityzen membership where people don't attend all the games. That said, you may want to think about introducing a season ticket for next year. I would be happy to pay up front! I might not have a job if I keep on this forum so you may be better taking my cash up front!

Thanks again for the tickets for Thirsday. You Rangers / City fans aren't that bad after all!!

Anyway, any Blues in the Leeds / Harrogate area who don't have transport sorted for New Years Day, Lewis and us Harrogate Blues have got a coach running. Just send a PM.

Bring back the good old days when me and R kid could walk to Maine Riad from Stretford on New Year's Day!

Wonder if season ticket holders who can't make the game are letting viagogo try to sell their ticket but then find they are asking too much and the seat doesn't sell
Where in the past they would ask their mates for say a tenner and the seat is filled

Unless they are on the cup scheme, a long time season ticket holder or a regular at aways a finals ticket won't be easy.

I doubt someone only interested on the derby would join the cup schemes.

and there was me thinking that City had the 4th highest average attendance in the Premier League.
Nest season we will probably have the 3rd highest, but does it really matter if our capacity is 53,000 and we're only averaging 51,000?

This is purely down to the rags obsession with size and it's clearly got to some people.

Let them ridicule because the gap is slowly closing. After all, their crowds were more than double when we were at Maine Road.
