Empty seats.. worsening trend?

A very Rag like question, and like the Rags we have a percentage of commuters, although our per percentage isn't 70% like those glory hunting twats. Oh and just maybe the weather forecast had something to do with it or was their a special celebration around where folks may of been visiting their Rag outlaws down south. You can choose your team but not your family, poor cnuts.

Wonder if season ticket holders who can't make the game are letting viagogo try to sell their ticket but then find they are asking too much and the seat doesn't sell
Where in the past they would ask their mates for say a tenner and the seat is filled

I tried to use it for the first time this season. Myself and the group I go with had a spare for Everton this year. Advertised it to our friends, family, on twitter and on here too for a fraction of the price..absoloute bargain considering i still consider Everton a big match....

No takers.. So I though I'd try Vianogo - afterall it's one of the perks of a Platinum card. I literally wanted a bit of cash for it so the seat at least got filled but the minimum limit on Via-no-go was to sell it for £48!! So nobody bought it and that seat stayed empty!

I noticed lots of other £48 tickets being advertised for that fixture on there too. So I am wondering how many people were in the same boat as me. Had to laugh at those trying to get £100 for them.

and there was me thinking that City had the 4th highest average attendance in the Premier League.
Nest season we will probably have the 3rd highest, but does it really matter if our capacity is 53,000 and we're only averaging 51,000?

This is purely down to the rags obsession with size and it's clearly got to some people.

Let them ridicule because the gap is slowly closing. After all, their crowds were more than double when we were at

Maine Road.

Rag obsession lol! I've been brough up in Stretford and laughed at the fcuckers for most of my life! I agree with the rest of your post about our excellent crowds!

We are learning a lot more about the issues including people being unable to sell tickets on Vianogo

Also, the Rags aren't a great comparator because they have a long history of shocking ticket management. I have just read the autobiography of Jimmy the Weed, of the Quality Street Gang. for example, Jimmy used to get hold of many hundreds of tickets from the rags (to sell on at many times face value) whenever they got to Wembley
Fuck me Tim, there's a blast from the past- Jimmy the Weed. That's put a wry smile on my face.

Thanks GDM. I'm happy to pass the book on. It's a good read and not for the faint hearted!!

when someone pays for a season ticket it's up to them what they do with it and the club have had the money whether they attend or not.

how many people on here attend every game and never spend a penny in the ground? they contribute just the same to the club

The attitude of some supporters is less than desirable ," i have a season card so i go when i want , because i can afford it" .This doesnt help the team or the atmosphere and it also means genuine supporters cant get a ticket because it is sold out . But i also blame the club for not developing a system , where season card holders who cant attend games can easily distribute their ticket ,in preference to leaving their seat empty , a season card holder could e-mail the club and they could devise a system were supporters could purchase a seat for face value and receive a printed ticket for access , and the club could reward the season card holder extra loyalty/bonus points or credit at the club shop/superstore. The club should sever ties with viagogo because they are in it for profit on supporters for an already expensive pastime .
You never know it might just stop the media commenting on every game about our empty seats and shite atmosphere and concentrate on our world class football team and superb football club

Can I give my situation and see what you think of it?

Me my dad and brother, 3 season tickets since Maine road, 3 year ago at renewal stage my dad getting older can't afford to renew or can't commit to every game, and my brother 28 married just bought house also can't afford it. The thought of my dad missing the good years after paying for me and my brother as kids breaks your heart, and wether you like it or not, when the big games come round I can guarantee them a seat to see us lift the trophies so I took on all 3 season cards, and mix it about, I let my dad and brother have first refusal on the games, or I take my gf, or take my pals. But there have been games where no one can make it and not just for the poor teams! Last year I had spares for United and arsenal, this year Chelsea, obviously no problems selling these. But I really have struggled selling tickets this year and well under face value, I had no takers for Stoke, palace, Everton and Swansea, and went as low as 20quid. Listed them on here or the twitter exchange or Facebook site. My singles never sell on viagogo and I list them as low as it lets you.

Should I be giving these season cards up in your opinion?
I hope you can carry on with the seasoncards. With the price of match-day tickets it would be hard to keep going if you had to give them up. I don't think it will get any easier to sell the spares with the extra seats coming online next season.

The more I think about, I think viagogo needs sacking off for a in house exchange. There are 19 pages of tickets for sale for Thursdays games and they won't sell. I make every effort I can to sell my spares and I'm sure every other person who has a spare doesn't want it to go to waste. Get rid of viagogo, get rid of the fees, let us sell for as low as we like and let's fill up the spare seats. I'm also guessing though that the club wouldn't let me sell my spare ticket through them for cheap while there are still tickets on open sale?

I love the way that people have managed to jump on the moral high ground of 'it's preventing other fans from attending' when the truth is that they don't like the pisstaking by daft united kids.

There will never be a football match in the world where every ticket holder turns up. That's just how it is. If you don't have a season ticket you can't sit with your mates, you have the hassle of buying a poorer seat and you can't get tickets for big games. So there will always be non attendees for every game. The reason there are more in the family stand is obvious: the kids tickets are dirt cheap.

Maybe because it's true DD! I wrote (earlier on) how my cousin was gutted not to get into the QPR game - only to see empty seats on the TV. He is a lifelong fan who had to give up his season card for family commitents!

I agree with your second paragraph
