Empty seats.. worsening trend?

I think I have "cracked it". All seats should be "in Channels" - then they can be moved left or right. Everybody must be in his seat 15 mins before K.O.
Any empty seats - at 14 mins. before K.O. - will be removed quickly by Stewards. All full seats can then be pushed together so no empty seats show.

If you are late then you get the seat at the end of the row BUT it must be pushed together with the Full seats. The TV editor will be told that no empty seats will be shown - otherwise he will get the chop - Scaffold to be erected behind " North Stand".

Other than the above - everybody must buy his seat and take it home - bring it with him for the next game. If you forget your "own " seat then the penalty is to Stand in the Gods - back of 3rd Level -out of view of the TV. -
(bet those would be packed with standing fans) - creating a great atmosphere?.

I'll get me coat................

I've got a season ticket but not sat in my seat for over 2 years. Some times I sell it on viagogo, sometimes friends or family use it (typically not City fans - there aren't many in Wigan where I am from), sometimes the seat goes empty. It costs me a lot of money and it will cost me more going forward (I sit in CB level 2 and the price keeps going up). I wouldn't dream of letting it go though in case I move back to the UK, if I do I will want to be sitting with my dad and brother and this is the only way to ensure that. Hopefully this coming year Ill get to go to a few games as well :-)

This isn't just a fan not turning up problem, this is also a City issue. I have posted something similar previously about my Uni attending daughter not being able to get back for all the games. I approached City to pay full price for her seasoncard on the basis she still gets her points but they point blank refused. I then asked if I could upgrade more than the two occasions (Saturday 3pm kick offs) as I can always get an adult to go and the club make a small profit for the upgrade, however the club decision was 'no'. I pointed out that this potentially meant leaving an empty seat but the club were not unduly concerned, they had already had their money so no issue as far as they were concerned. I know that there are a number of people in a similar position, kids playing football, parties etc so the club has to be more flexible. That way revenue increases and the stadium is full and who knows, the atmosphere might improve too. Until the Club listens to fans about these simple solutions we will not move forward in this regard.

I'm not sure if City are arsed or not, but once they sell those seats to Viagogo, it doesn't matter if those seats sell or not, as City have banked the money for those seats. Only Viagogo will lose out if they can't shift those seats.

So now if you miss a game for whatever reason you are not " a genuine supporter"

Sick and tired of gobshite c**ts on here telling other people how to support their own club. Especially when those fans have probably been going a lot longer than the jcl gobshites.

Amazing there where no threads about stealing people's season tickets under Pearce

This is where I usually suggest the Bayern approach of requiring season card holders to attend at least half of the home games (or lose the right to a season ticket the following year).

I still think this is the relight approach although it does carry a risk of losing some revenue, particularly at a time when we are expanding the stadium.

That said, I would still give the Bayern approach a go as there can't be more than a couple of hundred season card holders who don't go to at least half the games. Nobody has a right to a season card - especially if they are just turning up for the Derby and maybe one ir two other games.

No one has a right to a seasoncard but if you have had one for 42 consecutive seasons as I have, I consider that I am entitled to repurchase each year and then choose how often I actually use it; which is still quite a lot but as I live 180 miles from the ground, it is economic madness to attend every televised game. In fact, I still have no idea if I will attend to Sunderland game or stay home to see the in-laws and catch the game on TV.

FWIW, when I don't go, a relative almost always uses my ticket so it is very rare for it to be empty.

And I made it very clear OB1 that i recognise all fans can't make every game and that we have to look after our loyal fans! So what's your point then?

Can you expand on the stealing season cards under Pearce issue!

Nobody is criticising anybody for missing the odd game Gerry. Also, I was going a long time before you played for us and you were a great player. Your entourage with your scar faced brother and mates was the scariest I saw at Maine Road!
