Yeah I didn't think there was anything wrong, just like everyone else it's now become something we all have to be more aware of.Your tariffs are right. Mine with Octopus from Avro are the same

Tumble dyers are a killer. On big wash days our elec usage goes off the clockOven is electric and yep dishwasher which is on every day and tumble dryer at this time of year is on most days. Yeah I guess it all adds up.
Needs to get some solar installed with a big battery/inverter in the garage.
We live in a 2 bed flat that could be the reason,I just don't understand people letting them take money every month from there banks.I get my bill every 3 months then pay it no problem. That's amazingly cheap. We were on £74 a month until the end of a 3 year fixed deal with EDF at the start of last December. I took them up on an offer 2 or 3 months earlier which kicked in at the end of the last one at £110 per month (another 3 year fixed deal) which was a big jump.
I've just checked with the MSE energy club site and the cheapest deal is from OVO at £191 per month fixed for a year :(
Living in a flat could mean that you only have one outside wall (kitchen usually) and if so that help with heat retentionWe live in a 2 bed flat that could be the reason,I just don't understand people letting them take money every month from there banks.I get my bill every 3 months then pay it no problem.
I am torn , i read more against than for , can you have them taken out if you get probs with billing ? I was under the impression they get them right all the timeAs long as the smart meter isn't broken then it won't make your bills higher (or lower most probably). It's main saving is that the energy companies can sack off all of the meter readers.
What's the issue with your current meter, inaccessible to you, or to anybody? If it's out of reach is there no way you could reach in to get a photo of the reading with your phone on a selfie stick, or use a mirror on a stick? As has been said the only reason for smart meters is to save them money on meter readers.I am torn , i read more against than for , can you have them taken out if you get probs with billing ? We're a 2 bed mid terrace. I have no issue with DD myself, it helps us budget and (touch wood) I've never had a problem with payments being taken although being a fixed tariff it shouldn't change anyway. We live in a 2 bed flat that could be the reason,I just don't understand people letting them take money every month from there banks.I get my bill every 3 months then pay it no problem.
Like anything, the people who have had issues will be all over social media and websites (rightly so) whereas the people who don't have a problem (the vast majority) don't post.I am torn , i read more against than for , can you have them taken out if you get probs with billing ? I cant get down into the cupboard any more as i am disabled , the meter reading man can just do it , they tend to cold call when it is not a good time for me or i am not letting strange men in when i am on my own , if they booked a time with me then i would let them in but i have had no luck asking for that to happenWhat's the issue with your current meter, inaccessible to you, or to anybody?
