Right i was talking to my dad and brother about this yesterday and i said to my brother would you rather England win the world cup this year or City win every game left in the season and win the league? And he said England for the world cup. At this point i was so in shock i just walked out and didnt talk to him.

I dont know if its just me but City means so much more to me than England does? Dont get me wrong i love being English and coming from England but if it came between a choice of City and England its a no brainer City all the way.

Easy answer - City everytime. I get loads of stick at work off fans of other clubs for having this opinion but that's the way it is. I'll support England but I can never feel anywhere near as passionate about supporting England as I do City.

City AND England

I love City first, most of us do, but I love England and being English.

I agree with the poster who said that back in the day, it was easier to feel an affinity with Mick Mills, Chris Waddle, Gazza, Terry Butcher, Gary Lineker, etc. than it is now to feel an affinity with Rio, JT, Cashley Cole et al.

But, hand on heart, when they are wearing an England Shirt, I would cheer anyone of those guys with a passion.

Sure the friendlies are dull.......... but so are City's friendlies, so are friendlies for all clubs.

I want City to be successful desperately - as do you guys.

I would fookin love it if England could win something though...... and we DO have a chance this time with Capello in charge (even though I would still prefer an English manager to manage England.... greedy fooker aint I...!!!!)

Club before Country however I'd rather we won the World Cup this year than the premierleague, i mean we get a chance every year to win that - we haven't won the WC since 1966.

We'll have many opportunities to win things from now on, England are shit so i'd rather take the WC.

City all the way.

I only support England if City players contribute to the major part of the success (three goals 1 scored and 2 set-up).

I've said it before and I'll say it again "I'd rather Carlos Tevez scored a last minute winner for Argentina from the penalty spot, via a Rag player's challenge, than England win via a Scum player scoring". Although I'd have to go "Oh no!" as Tevez falls over while taking it and the ball trickles through Rob Green's legs.

But I'd then point out that if Joe Hart had been playing he would have saved it.

MCFC end of ... The fact that Im Algerian has nothin to do with it lol...I think I follow my country alot more than england fans follow theirs though... Alot of ppl dnt seem to be arsd how they get on... Doesn't bother me though, I only want to see England do well if our boys are in the squad. Like tonight!!

I'd have to go for England, but that's probably because I live abroad, and I could do some major bragging to the Germans, French and Americans in the expat community. Having said that there are a lot of players in the current England team who I cannot stand, I think I must be getting old and cynical.
