There is no logic in what you say? Rico hasnt played as much as Mainoo for one reason, United are utter shite and City are the best team in the World. If you know how to put your shorts over your arse and your top over your head you have already made the bench at Old Trafford. Waistcoat should be picking the best players or at least those that fit the squad and Rico is clearly better than Mainoo. If Mainoo was at City it is unlikely he would have made the bench even for early Caribou Cup games.
 
Seen very little of Bellingham this season but from what I have (2 games against us and the Brazil friendly) I have a nagging feeling his petulance might cost us. Glenn Hoddle expressed similar concerns as a justification for leaving out Beckham early on in the 98 WC .... look how that turned out!

Rico has played exactly twice as many games for the best team in Europe as Mainoo has for a complete basketcase of a club (50 against 25). He also made his England debut and did pretty well. Mainoo is usually anonymous when he plays and has very little awareness (watch this Saturday for confirmation).
Just for completeness, I am happy Rico has not been picked because (a) he'd never play and (b) he'd learn fuck all from that arsehole Waistcoat.

No reason not to play both. Foden as a number 10 and Bellingham either helping Rice or alongside Foden depending what’s happening. Saka and Grealish on the wings and Kane up top.
 
Gomez should be nowhere near the squad, can't imagine Quansah is anywhere near ready.

Pep's always said he wants a team of midfielders as that's generally where the game's won.

The named midfield looks weak, Rice is excellent and I agree you do need a dirty aggressive type, so surely either Jones Or Gallagher? Ward-Prowse should be in, Mainoo surely no!!!!

Must be gutting for Kalvin that the move and loan haven't worked otherwise he would be in.

The good news is there's a bucket full of attacking midfielder/ striker's named. Phil, Jack, Madison and Palmer.

Watkins has had strong season and deserves his chance, Toney doesn't. Solanke has also had a good season and should have been a possibility.
Genuinely happy for Branthwaite, Eze and Wharton who've all had breakout seasons and deserve their chances.

Yeah I am saying you don't sacrifice either. You get others to sacrifice their game so they can do their best work.

Bernardo probably has a preferred position but he plays wherever he is asked and puts the work in so the team wins. If Kovacic plays, Rodri sometimes pushes further forwards.

Rice has to sit even if he's not as good, because the other players are so much better. And similarly the defensive shape has to be one that enables Phil and Bellingham to do their best work.

But Phil is the key.

I'm actually hoping to say he's got it right.

Unfortunately I'm not that confident I will be praising him,for a change.

On a brighter note,at least his provisional squad isn't that terrible.
 
How many from this squad do not make the final squad.
Maddison for me is the one I would not include in the final squad.
His form is average at best the last few months.
