Wright Phillips and Warnock going and players like Baines, Bent, Walcott and even the Johnson lad omitted is a bit disappointing.

Bent must feel like he is victimized.
Baines has the best defensive stats in the league, so weird decision.

.......and jonno kept the bench nice and warm for 2 games even though he was really impressive in training.
 
spoke to villa fan who reckons warnock has been shite this season for them. i would still have him in the squad ahead of baines though. lets hope ashley cole doesnt get injured.

You can. It's not really reccomended, however. But once again Capello has painted himself into a corner by not using AJ. If anything untoward happens to either Cole or Gerrard we are well and truly fucked.

Well done Fabio. You'll be on first-name terms with the alcoholic baconfaced cnut for including that waste of space Carrick in the team.
 
Italian managers are known for not putting trust into youth, Mancini was the exception in this, I've read previously how when at Inter he had no fear in trusting in youth. However its clear Capello is going with experience, imo Johnson and Walcott should have gone, both as impact players. Walcott would have gone above SWP (although im happy for him of coarse) and Johnson and J.Cole would have been my two wide left midfielders. Leaving Gerrard, Lampard, Barry, and Milner as my central midfield four.

Imagine if a keeper gets sent off. Would you want to go into the next game with no backup? You're only a pulled groin or damaged shoulder away from Rio Ferdinand keeping goal at the World Cup. In reality only one keeper is likely to play at any point this World Cup, but the risk of only taking 2 simply isn't worth taking.
 
It's a shame that Adam Johnson is not in the squad, but he has time on his side. We knew he wasn't going a few days back, so i'm pretty much over the disappointment now. Currently, my overriding emotion is pure delight that Kelvin Etu... err i mean Theo Walcott is not going to South Africa.
