He could. Just pick as many City players as possible, aged 15 upwards and I reckon he’d get us further than Southgate.
Maybe ha.
Look at the squad properly though, pretty poor defence, average at best midfield and half decent forwards.
The squad isn't as good as people seem to think.

I'm not convinced Southgate is doing a great job, but replacing at this stage makes no sense - as I said on the other thread, unless you want Allardyce or Dyche, there's nobody available. In any case, for all the constant complaints about Southgate, there's never any realistic discussion of possible replacements - just 'appoint (latest flavour of the month manager) and let the players off the leash.'

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that for a second
Tuchel has a good record in cup competition. Couldn’t do any worse than this clown.

Imagine Pep with this team:

———————-Pickford———————
Walker—Stones—White—Mitchell
————————-Rice————————-
————-Foden———Gallagher——-
Sterling————Kane———Grealish
The Pepbot would overheat and explode trying to coach Pickford.

the wing back bullshit needs to be fucked off. we end up super deep too scared to move up the pitch.

midfield is turgid. go for Rice and Bellingham in with Grealish or Mount in front and play on the front foot dominating and being aggressive.

get Foden up front on the left, we need someone to have a shot. Sterling back on the right as the other options are toss.

no fucking united players in the squad they’re all wank.

I dont mind Pope as keeper. seems solid and doesnt make a tit of himself. plus he still banging Horlock’s daughter who has babylons for the ages. respect to that man.

I disagree. We’re above average in all positions bar midfield and we could be okay there if we picked the right people, like Foden, Gallagher etc.

Can’t believe you’ve left out the Best Player in the World to Not Yet Have Turned 20!

Keep for the World Cup for sure - these Nation League games are little more than friendlies and all forgotten about when the major tournament comes around, I only found out we was playing tonight earlier today.

Come the World Cup, We’ll be fired up with all the usual hyper surrounding it and likely have another fantastic tournament under Southgate like the previous

Would let him go after the WC , however well we do though (unless win it)
3 tournaments is enough for a Manager and get a new man in the hot-seat and start fresh again

Just my opinion

I think at this point you could put Wiegman in charge and we would have a better chance of getting out of our group.
But she already has a job so she isn't going to take charge of the men's squad right now, is she? My point stands - getting rid of the manager at this stage is pointless - there aren't any more international breaks after this, so any new manager has no time to work with the players and will probably end up picking a squad with most of the players who went to the Euros, injuries permitting.
