Fair enough, but I said 'remember'. You weren't even born then (WW I+II, '66), but me, I was in Italy and in England...

Fair enough but I think most people relate to things that may be outside their era. Don't take it the wrong way but I hope anyone wins it but Germany.

What good does it do anyone to keep harking back to the second world war? Seems to have done countries like Germany and Japan a lot more good to consign it to the dustbin of history and move on.

Yes great mate let's consign those thousands/millions who died to the dustbin and forget everything about it.

In the 1990 World Cup we only scraped through the group stages and the reason why we got through was because the players told Bobby Robson to change the system to a back 3. All through the early part of the tournament our media was putting a lot of pressure on us.

At the start Robson was playing 4-4-2 when he changed we improved.

Roy plays 4-4-2 and only that. Step forward, improvement?.......I don't think so!

We do need to forget this now and move on. English people and German people have much more that unites us than divides us. We are all Europeans.

Hope the City lads around this tournament (and the world)got a real good look at just how sub-shite the cpmbined 'offensive' talents of Young, Welbeck and Rooney really are.

A lot of the English players are flattered domestically having technically gifted players around them; it was there for all to see tonight.

They're just 'bit part' players in a league whose appeal and sublime quality comes from elite international footballers.

That English side tonight would have looked right at home in the Championship.

How many times have you heard 'good for United but bad for England.' Media implies England makes him look bad, but it's actually rags making him look like a player he isn't. Without world class service, he is shit.

The inevitability of it all.

Rooney was piss poor. Again. World class my arse. He wasn't even close to being fit so taking Grace Jones off was a huge mistake. Carrol need crosses from wide and we never provided one! Defence played really well but very little ahead of them.

It's still been a great tournament and tbh I'm not actually bothered as we were never going to win it. If we'd have won on pens it would've been a travesty tbf and it's saved us getting spanked by the Hun in the semis.

Have you or do you live in Germany?

German's or Spanish seem the most complete teams so if going of who deserves to win it then either of them.
Portugal seem a bit to reliant on Ronaldo this euro's. Italy are tough but no real attacking flair or penetration.

Exactly. It doesn't mean forget the people who died, it just means stop still mentally (and verbally) using it to put modern day countries in adversarial positions, needlessly.
