@Neapoli7....Thanks for coming on my friend, you have been a great help. Please keep coming back because I'm sure there will be more questions. Is the new subway station for Via Toledo open yet? If yes where is it connected to?
Ciao Pete
The subway in Via Toledo is still under construction as they have found archeological finds of the roman age, so it will take a little bit more than the usual to finish it.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
When you get in main train station (Stazione Garibaldi) you can take the bus 'R2' which leads to the main square of the city 'Piazza del Plebiscito' (city center), it is the last stop and it will take about 10 - 15 minutes (Keep your wallets in the front pockets when the bus is packed of people, you never know...).
As soon as you go out of the station, walk toward Garibaldi's statue (150 meters away, there is the end line of the route and also the first stop right behind Garibaldi's statue) and then ask for the 'R2' bus stop, usually these buses are orange, in particular the R2 sometime has a sort of a "squeeze-box" shape (In italy the bus is called 'Pullman' or 'Poolman').
This is the R2 bus:

HOW TO GET TO SAN PAOLO STADIUM BY SUBWAY
From Garibaldi Train Station to San Paolo stadium, you can use the subway. You don't need to get out from the station just take the escalators nearby the gates. Once you are in the subway take the line 2 (Linea 2)
POZZUOLI DIRECTION. The stop for the sadium is 'Campi Flegrei'.

HOW TO GET TO SAN PAOLO STADIUM BY BUS
Go to Garibaldi Square and take the bus number
151 and get off untill you'll see the stadium :) it is big enough to recognise it.
Here is the bus stop:
<a class="postlink" href="http://maps.google.it/maps?saddr=Piazza+Giuseppe+Garibaldi&daddr=Piazza+Garibaldi,+9,+80142+Napoli+(Una+Hotel+Napoli" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://maps.google.it/maps?saddr=Piazza ... tel+Napoli</a>)&hl=it&sll=40.852311,14.268558&sspn=0.001647,0.003449&geocode=FaxabwId2rTZAA%3BFXRZbwIdI7XZACFWEIyMlxZakQ&vpsrc=0&mra=mift&mrsp=0&sz=18&t=h&z=18
I recommend to get the subway, it is way quicker (15 minutes or even less), the bus will take around 30 minutes or even more if there will be traffic, and believe me the traffic will drive you crazy there.
FOOD
If you want to eat the best Pizza of the world, you have to go in the oldest pizzeria of Napoli, so that means the oldest pizzeria of the world: Da Michele.
This place is close to Garibaldi's Statue, it is on the 'Corso Umberto I', there are loads of shops there.
I strongly suggest to the ones who reside around Garibaldi area, you can eat a pizza in this place called Pizzeria Da Michele, you won't experience another good pizza as Da Michele's one. You have to go around lunch time (12:30) otherwise there will be a long queue. Go inside and ask a ticket to the cashier, then wait for your turn just outside, there will be a waiter calling your ticket number. The maxium you can pay is 5,50 euro (Pizza + Beer [only peroni]), you won't get any special pizza such as peperoni or stuff like this, the only pizzas available are Margherita and Marinara, best ever!!!
Here is the way from Garibaldi square to the pizzeria:
