Enzo Fernandez

£100m on Enzo is a far more guarantee than a similar fee on another english had-half-good-season young player . we have been burnt repeatedly in the past and there are other examples - Rodwell, Philips, Mount, Conor Gallagher, Dele Ali, Mainoo…..lots of promising made the england team type lads always emerge and everyone spunks their load and then a couple of years later they aint developed and/or the trapping of fame and fortune go to their heads.

that said, hes a prick and we have consistently attempted to impose a no dickheads policy which has kept the vibes good.

He’s in a club which enables it. Maresca will know if he is a bad apple or not and I think when players join here and are in a dressing room with the likes of Dias, Rodri and so on, very rarely do players step out of line.

On his actual ability, I like lots of his game and our midfield desperately needs power and running ability so I’d bring him in

I`m fully onboard with it if Anderson is coming as well and not instead of Anderson.
 
I think he is exactly what we need. This team has few natural leaders, no players who really get stuck in. He does, has lots of experience and scores goals (13 this season in all.
 
Our ability to recover the ball I think has been as issue for the last few years. If we are after both Enzo and Elliot it will increase our ability for recoveries. With Rodri, Enzo and Elliot in centre mid with NOR advancing when in possession, it makes us so much harder to break down. With a midfield like that in comparison to silva and Rodri/Nico it’s probably quite obvious to see how our second half performances have dropped off a cliff since the turn of the year.

Its crazy what he wants his 2 midfielders to do in front of that defence. They have to win duels , press resistant, box crash , score goals provide high energy. They can't just do a bit of what's listed they have to be able to do all of it.

Caicedo and Ndidi role was destroyer but also want the ball to feet be able to drop and take the ball of the keeper they also had to have the positional awareness to spin with the ball after recieving it. When they couldn't do that Cheslea and Leicester would concede chances or goals.

the Enzo Fernandez role he had to do a lot more , he had to box crash, provide goals, be positionally aware, provide an outlet, switch postions with the ten, spray ball in behind and out wide, win his duels and link up play.

Dewsbury Hall came into Chelsea as he knew the system and could help the other players learn it, I can see Maresca asking for Enzo Fernandez for that reason also once Maresca trusts you, you become a core part of his system and start nearly all the games

Nico OR could easily play this role in my opinion but then LB needs looking at. That said that could easily be contested between Josko and Ait-Nouri as we have great options at CB

i dont watch either enough bu Enzo looks more like a Bernardo replacement with the technical ability and goals?

Anderson looks more like a lung busting pound shop Declan Rice. Joey Barton ish

but my main gripe is that Enzo most likely will take AM/CM spot, which means we will loose Cherki in starting XI or he is moved to RW

Foden would move to the bench, where he will stay unless he dramatically improves.

Enzo shades it in terms of ability but there is too much baggage with the player and I doubt we will splash £200m for both.
