Don’t know how long Stones will be out for, but surely Garcia has to get a lot of game time now? League’s gone anyways

Admittedly Garcia hasnt had many opportunities , but every time i see this lad play he doesnt put a foot wrong , he reads the game superbly , and likes a tackle at some stage Pep is going to have to put trust in some of these youngsters , i am less nervous when Garcia is in our back four at the moment than when Stones is playing there.

Played well but didn't win any one on one aerial battles. that will probably come with experience

And size. Plays well whenever I see him, but long term he's going to need to get a bit bigger, seeing as he probably won't get any taller

He just looks so tiny out there. It’s not impossible to be great at his size but he really does not look the part. Makes it very hard to judge him accurately

The best we could settle for now is 2nd place. Leicester looks great, could be tough
Games over the Christmas period will determine whether Leicester pull away from us or not. They play us and Liverpool, so 6pts makes them almost contenders and pushes us into a fight for 3rd! However, if the Dippers beat them, and we beat them, then the gap is gone and they’re in their heels.

Is it just me, or do you have to play exceedingly good football every week AND not get any injuries to your top 12-15 players to be a contender in the PL anymore? It’s UFB that before Christmas the race appears over, and City have lost less than a handful of games and are in a race for 3rd! Just shows you how special this season has been for 1 and 2 SO FAR.

Manchester City are set to hand Eric Garcia a new five-year deal in the coming weeks. City want to tie him down to a long-term contract, with a salary in the region of £25,000-a-week - on par with Phil Foden. [@Journo_Slash]

Etihad source: “This kid is the real deal. Pep and his staff know it. He’s a student of the game and old beyond his young years. The club are looking to box him off for the long-term. He’s known to be one of the best at his age.” [via @SunSport]

That would be great news. I've been a little skeptical he actually would sign a new deal without some assurances on playing time.

How do those assurances in a 22-player squad look like for the next 5 years?
Will the club get clean sheet assurances in return? ;-)

The only assurance players get is:
when you are fantastic and fit week in week out you'll play week in week out.
