I can’t believe the hype and attention surrounding Garcia.

He has played a handful of games.

He has been ok in parts and not ok in other parts.

He wants to leave which is fine.

city want paid a decent fee for his development.

He Is too slow and is not strong enough for the league at present.

He is 19 but behaved unprofessional which due to age is no surprise.

We have Laporte and Dias with Ake and academy players as backup.

In 3 years he will be in a decent team around mid table in la liga.

Some fans pissed off with Garcia and Barca for how they are going about the transfer.

Bottom line he is leaving and is not good enough and we won’t get the correct fee it will be undervalued.

I like a lot of what you say on other topics but, on this one, I've had to pipe up because IMO you're too hard on the lad and all it does is act as a call to arms for those who can't let go gracefully.

Anyhow, we've both made our opinions clear, so there's nothing to have a barney about and I won't be shy about tipping you a like on another subject if I'm impressed with your patter, as I sometimes am.

I agree with this but sadly, unless we are going to write off this season to rebuild and give these players game time in the first team to develop then we're caught between a rock and a hard place... Right now we need proven players i.e those who have shown they have what it takes...

Ive heard bullying mentioned on this thread and also Garcia referred to as a kid... Bullying is wrong in any environment but "kid"? the lad has been in the game for years and commands a salary I'd have dreamt of when I was working so if he deserves people telling it how it is then that's fine by me...

Neither age or salary are barriers to bullying.

The different with Dest is that Barca couldn't have him sign a contract in 3 months time to join as a free agent next season.

Barca have just as much leverage as us in this situation (if not more), as much as people here don't think that is the case.

We absolutely should be negotiating for more than the £8m that has been offered, but the club are deluded if they think we are getting £25m for him with 9 months left on his contract.

20m is absolutely fair. that is not to wait a season, and get him for 10m less than the asking price.
for 10m, literally not worth caving in and selling.
