We got €20m in january 6 months left for Diaz
If Barca want Garcia in january with 6 months left they can pay similar

To expect to pay less on deadline day with a full season left is disrespectful.
They tried to low ball and we didnt cave.
100% behind the club.

A whiny Garcia will be told to shut the fuck up by the majority of our players. So again he won’t be able to kick up a fuss even if he wanted to.
Barca are 820m euros in debt. They won't be buying him in Jan. They will take him for free.

By all accounts he is a professional and won't kick up a fuss. He told the club he wouldn't renew and it was up to City to do a deal with Barca.

I just don't see why we are keeping him around, he should be 5th choice at best and we all know Pep isn't going to banish him to the EDS.

I don’t think he will be whiny. He seems an honest guy who will give his all & should be played in cup games

I'm sorry but a CB with 2 decent seasons in the championship for 2 mil is pitiful. If he's good enough for a Premier League team, even one who will probably go down, 2mil is insulting, even if he has less than 12 months left.
Yeah but Well he wanted to leave and no club wanted to pay up for him. He would never have got a chance this season since we have lot of CBs. City made it easy for him to leave rather than waste a season for him in bench and he is 23.

I think this became personal on a few levels... shitty behaviour by Barca - tapping up the player, lowballing with pathetic unrealistic offers. A history between a number of City's Execs and the Barcelona Board - clearly no love loss there, and some of Barca's underhand tactics in the past clearly still rankle (passing those Mancini stories around ahead of the Cup Final being a case in point). Garcia's behaviour, he's behaved badly, chanced his arm and been put in his place, I have no issues with him wanting out, but he should have said at the outset he wanted to go - and not start the process of running his contract down by stringing the club along saying he'd sign an extension when he clearly had no (or little) intention of doing so. A few months with the kids or a loan to Bolton are his only options for a few months. If Barca really wanted him they'd have tried harder to get him. I suspect little Garcia is no more than a pawn in a power struggle between Executive egos... Barca thought taking him back would upset City but when it came to the crunch they didn't want him enough to stump up cash they don't have. On top of that City have clearly manoeuvred Messi in a place where he is going to leave for us on a free at some point and Barcelona's Board will be feeling bruised and upset - so there is a state of war between the two clubs with Garcia caught in the crossfire - no wonder he's taken to wearing a helmet!

They won’t get him for nowt it will go to a tribunal where we will get some fee!

I get the stubborn business side of saying screw you barca especially after messi saga but for £5mil difference I would of sold him. He doesn’t want to be here & no guarantee we sell him for any more than £10-£15 mil either in January or next season.

I would rather shift him & use the money to get a striker or left back on loan if nothing else.

very strange window for me, we still have players not wanting to be here & can’t get rid of players we don’t want. Beginning to look like to much time went into messi.

I will give the club the benefit as buying players during covid is also very risky & potentially short term thinking. even if boring for us fans.

let the others think they have made progress but in another 18 months we will be ready to build with new manager & new players :-)

Can we agree on one thing, it is not a Txiki decision as to whether we accept their bid. It would be a Khakdoon/Sorriano decision and was one of principle. You tap up our player, then we determine the transfer fee, not you.

Will be a pittance and drawn out process. Why wouldn't we just take the cash on the table now.

He won’t be drawn out and we probably get half what Barca were offering which I’m totally be happy with when a club like Barca spend 140m in a player then loan him out offer below a fair fee we are asking you don’t bend over.
