He’s not been duplicitous, he’s honestly honoured every last clause of the contract between him and us and now he’s off to pastures new. As is his right upon cessation of his contract with us.

He’s never bad mouthed our club, he’s always been low key and worked hard. People in the club love him, say he’s a great guy. So why all the venom?

And anyhow, if he’s no fucking good why do both City & Barca want to employ him and why are you pissed off at him leaving?

At the very least he owed city a decent transfer fee. No point going round and round. I respect the opinion you hold but do not agree.

The amount of vitriol directed against Garcia is truly astonishing. Well not surprising since a lot here also slag Laporte when he lost favor and started making noises. A promising up and coming CB who is surplus to requirement wanting a move and the geniuses are frothing in their mouths. Players have careers to consider and take care of, they don't owe some random bloke who has a romanticized view of football and see everything through blue tinted spectacles. Can't believe anyone still holds on to that kind of crap. Players will not stay if they think they are extra and they have opportunity for greener pastures elsewhere. It's that simple.

Of course we have, he's an U21 player that will count as club-trained when turns 21. Besides, this fact alone adds 10-15m to his value if we sell to another PL club in the future.
