I did acknowledge the academy is making plenty of money but not 1 of the 100s of players have established themselves in our first team. It’s all good making money from player sales and it helps keep us in the black, but with all the scouting across multiple clubs and continents we have not unearthed a superstar.

We have tried to sign plenty of big name players only my to miss out due to the transfer fee or player wages. Sanchez, Kane, Ronaldo, Haaland to name a few. All A list at the time.

Sanchez was the biggest of dodged bullets,Haaland is still on the market, which, should we get him, will also make Kane look like another dodge.Ronaldo was never coming here once the dickheads in Stretford picked up the phone.

As for your first para, surely Phil is as big a superstar as we could have hoped? And we now have 3 or 4 coming through that if all drops into place, could well establish first team careers here too.

Our academy has been a huge success, its only because of our status that more haven't made it here.

Dortmund will bag extra 40 mills in January if we offer 100mills but why the need to let one our biggest asset go for free on top of that?
You don’t even do that kind of deal in monopoly.
I don't see any situation where Haaland moves in January. He doesn't care what Dortmund get for him and they won't freeze him out to prove a point if he refused a move.

They are also not going to take on Sterlings wages, never mind his performances recently.

Biggest asset hmmm not so sure about that at the moment.
Yes daft monopoly deal but I'm one of those that would dearly love him to sign for us

Significant offer needs to made to Haaland, if that is not enough then fair enough, but board has to try at least.
An obvious comment really.

Our board will have done their sums and evaluated his worth,as they do with all our targets, they will base any offer on such.
We arent the Rags who throw money at anything and everything, while upsetting their wage structure and squad harmony/balance.....and it seems to have been a good strategy,so far.

Yes, absolutely true - and we're not Barcelona either who are in the mess they are because they tried to please fans and members who screamed for them "just to pay up", "give 'em the money", "pay whatever it takes". And the result is that Barcelona couldn't even register free transfers. The result of our policy is that the players we bought have won trophies while those we didn't cough uo for have won nowt.

While Snachez appears to eb a bullet dodged, you just never know how ti would have turned out IF he had come to us.

Appaarently, after his first training session he was dismayd and realised he never wanted to be there....he hated it....that would hugely impact on his performances....>You just never know that if he had come to us he may have maintained his level or even improved further.....
Completely his fault however.

Sanchez was a greedy bastard, he took the money, don't blame him at his stage of his career but please don't have sympathy for him.
