Real Madrid's signing of Kylian Mbappe, the best player in the world right now, is a guarantee. Los Blancos are confident that they could also sign Erling Haaland this coming summer, because the player's representatives have told the club that he would like to wear the famous white shirt.

The problem is that Manchester City are also optimistic, as they've been told that he would like to play there as well.

Pep Guardiola is adamant that City need to sign a goalscorer like Haaland. City are willing to talk, which would see the price of a deal shoot up to between 335-350 million euros.

Real Madrid don't want to pay such sums, nor do they want to match the salary that City can offer. Not even Mbappe will earn the 30 million euros Haaland wants.

So, the decision is Haaland's. If he's happy to share the spotlight and money isn't his biggest motivator, he'll join Real Madrid to form a lethal partnership with the Frenchman. Otherwise, he'll earn more at City and be the focal point of their attack.

Sounds like out of his own arse after a massive burrito.

So he spoke to his contact and was also able to ascertain Haaland's own viewpoint of playing with Mbappe.

I'm sure Haaland would discuss such a thing with City, if that is indeed where this person claims to have his sources.

He 'called' Grealish, diddie aye!

When every single journalist hobbyist and anyone with a smartphone had been calling it all summer and it was widely rumoured he was an important target, eager to move, club not standing in his way, with no rival in the mix. That went on for ages.

Jeremy was out by about 3.5 weeks, and 25m. But it generated excitement because 'this guy is good', so now that goes down as he called it right.

If Haaland were to sign for Madrid, you could argue his latest reddit post got that right too. Covers his bases and hedges the known bets. And lets the excitement of interpretation write his 'stats'.

So informed, as you say, people on here were calling it in the March. Especially so, as his agent had briefed the Daily Mail off the record.

This guy has basically nosed his entire information on saying he has spoken to his contact and reiterated everything the claims out of Spain have provided all week.

And yet, he still wishes to confirm my information on Feb 2 that Haaland had said yes to us (thanks for that Jeremy - with a name like that, bound to have his ear to the footballing ground - whilst all the time saying it's coming out of my arse.

At least make your mind up, Jeremy, because, unlike you, I don't wait for reports elsewhere to do it for me.

In my eyes Jeremy is the top ITK, if you look at his previous posts there’s no one better, like him or not or like what he’s posting or not for me he’s the most accurate, it’s not exactly what we want to hear, however I think it just shows it’s not completely done, the hype train slows a little but it’s still moving all the same.

He's got more couch than DFS with that post.

"I spoke to my contact today and they say City are in pole position. Haaland has said he wants to come and his dad obviously has a soft spot for the club. Their only worry is Madrid coming in with a late offer and turning Erling’s head. Suggestions that Haaland wouldn’t play alongside Mbappé are false. He wouldn’t feel he has to be the main man.
All in all, City are pretty optimistic. But it’s a waiting game. This is as accurate as we’re going to get at the moment as it’s coming from the very top (not out of Tolmie’s arse)."
