Erling Haaland

What we need to do is take advantage of being the best team in the world and being UCL finalists and potentially winners. That’s a position in which we aren’t guaranteed to be at the end of next season. When you’re at the top, it’s easier to get all the top players as they all want to come to the winning side, and they will work with you to make that happen.

United and Dortmund are completely different models
Both clubs still hold the players registration. Both could buy out their contracts but that is a whole legal minefield.

They don't have the money. That is all. That is probably why Real were pushing the whole Super League idea along with the Red Clubs and the rest.

Yes the Super League was a ploy by Madrid to land Pogba

(I know you didn’t mean that, but it still read as funny lol)

Yes. I guess they will have an amount they are prepared to lose to keep him for a year, much like Sancho but without the clause. What that amount is, is anyones guess.
Problem that Dortmund have is the release clause, could lose haaland to Munich next year

They could and that's for them to decide, but I'm not sure if he stays and goes for his release clause Bayern are favourites or even in the first 3 favourites, though Raiola may well use that threat as a lever this summer.

Haaland wont stay at Dortmund. Mino wont allow it. Hes a dick of an agent but he always gets what he wants. He will threaten Dortmund most probably. run Dortmunds name through the mud with all his other clients etc

He's 27,28 in July. His injuries are over exaggerated.

We currently have a player who is 5 years older,so no we don't have one of them already.
However.....I agree,Haaland would be my preference.

He gets a lot of ankle injuries now, plus others.
That’s only gonna get worse not better considering we usually go far into 4 competitions.
More games isn’t gonna help that.
I reckon he’s got 3-4 years before the injuries start to take a real toll.
If we could get him cheap then it would be worth the gamble, but that’s never gonna happen.
£100m+ not for me.

This is my issue, not the amount of injuries, it's the amount of injuries on his ankles. That sort of thing tends to be career shortening.

Yeah, possibly, but currently he is still a very prolific 30- 40 game a season striker. As you say,in 3 or 4 years, when he is 31/32 that may change.....but that is a bridge we would cross then.
Your previous comment suggested he was in similar territory as Aguero,my point is he isn't and he won't be for some time.

I'll let Txiki worry about the money.

The Aguero comment was more about they seem to be similar in the amount of injuries they seem to pick up the older they get.
Not so much the number, though I’ll admit I thought Kane was 28/29, seems to have been around forever.
It’s all a gamble, Haaland could pick up one bad injury which could lead to ongoing injuries.
With Kane though the odds are stacked against him already.
The price is the biggest sticking point in this deal.
Not really Kane’s fault, maybe it is after signing that 6 year deal.
He’d have probably left Spurs a year or two back without that deal and probably have a trophy or two to show for it.
It wouldn’t have been with us though.

Yet they had enough to spend £130m on hazard? Plus various other signings in the 40-50m region not long before the pandemic. Pogba was never of interest because he’d never get in the side ahead of Kroos, Modric, Casemiro.

Dortmund can afford to ride it out for a season and will probably sit Haaland down with both his representives and thrash out a compromise deal. They don't want to lose both their prize assets this summer. Especially with Dortmund still being a very ambitious club themselves. They have still promised Sancho he can finally leave and if either Utd and Chelsea will match their valuation he will go. They won't back down with their valuation on either players.
Dortmund arguably have three Assets.
They’ve also got young Bellingham although I’m not sure what age he is ?

Back on the team playing the DFB-Pokal final against Leipzig starting in less than one hour
