Ethiopian airline crash

Most Jet2 planes are ancient. You pays your money and takes your choice

The 757 is still the backbone aircraft for Jet2 and whilst it is old it is very good. It is still in use because it is powerful and can get out of small airports with more people which means more money. There has been no equivalent replacement until recently.

An older plane cannot really be considered old anyway because the majority of parts will of been replaced several times.

I fly a tinpot Cessna which is about 40 years old and it is fine with no accident history. The only thing on it that is 40 years old though is the structure. All of the controls, the engine and basically all of the moving parts have been replaced many times.

How good would your old car be if you replaced the engine and all the moving parts etc every couple of years?

That's part of my point though. You could put new tits on Theresa May but that wouldn't make me want to go there

More countries and airlines are grounding it.
You'd think the CAA/EASA would follow suit if only to ease passenger concerns.

I expect threats from Trump to all countries threatening US industry any moment.

Devil and the deep blue sea. There is not a shred of evidence which suggests the aircraft is to blame but looking at the accidents you’d be a fool not to believe that something could potentially be wrong here.

Hugely damaging for Boeing as well. They will recover in the course of time but I do think sitting on their hands could prolong that process.

RIP to all those lost. A terrible, terrible way to go.

Those 757s for jet2 are being retired very soon I believe.

Shame, it’s an incredible aeroplane.
