Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

What are your thoughts on 1894s display pre-match yesterday?
It was really good in its idea, but was let down by a few things.

Too many fans weren’t in their seats when it was happening so loads of flags weren’t being waved, and a fair few of those who were in their seats weren’t bothering waving their flags.

Also the 93:20 section above it was half empty at the time so would have detracted from it if it had been on camera.

But those that were there and taking part, and the idea behind it, made it look great.

That would be brilliant but I have my doubts whether everyone would move and instead choose to be near the away fans.

For example the South stand could have been a decent singing end if the vocal fans in the east stand had swelled the number of singers and visa versa fans in the south stand moving into the east stand. Its been like this since the Kippax terrace went. Loads of opportunites to create ‘one end’ but never been taken.
I’d move to a North Stand singing section first chance I could. I’ve got no interest in being near the away fans and the small singing section we’ve always had has never seemed worth being part of as theres nothing special about it, it’s simply too small and in the wrong place.

We might not be famous anymore in [what was] the Kippax, but SSL1 has never and will never be famous.

That’s no offence intended to the people in there, it’s about the structure itself; a little effort of an area set aside in the bottom tier of a stand.

100% agree.
The crowd joined in when the classics were sung, unfortunately the south stand never seem to sing them.

didn’t hear hey Jude, we love you city, we’re not really here once from the south stand last night
Why on Earth has Hey Jude stopped being sung? Apart from Blue Moon, it was the main song that the rest of the ground joined in with.

Not heard City ‘til I Die for about 15 years neither.

We can still make the north stand a singing section. We are apparently making all level 1 north stand rail seating. Move the family stand whenever we expand and make that into a singing area. It’s our last chance to have a home end
Expand fuck me we can't fill it now why would we stick another 6000 seats in, show me the waiting list

Untill we shift the away fans to the top section in L3 then its going to be a struggle

Away games our fans are class you can here from start to finish at home more this year its been 10 mins here 10 mins there not great imo

I know it's a smaller & compact ground but Pallace put us to shame

I also believe our over kill of passing some games kills the atmosphere

Look at these smaller clubs Malmo, Genk tonight it's loud as fuck

Let's face it foreign teams are far better at the singing

No suprise Pep has passed comment at least 3 times this season again last night

I'm in the family stand & it's poor but I guess that's where 2021 football is with us far to many day trippers soaking up the tickets & none City fans

To be fair, price it right and we’d sell them.

Over 10,000 people applied for about 1,000 £250 season tickets when SSL3 was opened. Also when away fans return their tickets for SSL3 and we sell them back to City fans at £30, they’re snapped up.

If City ever built a 15,000 seated one tier’d North Stand, sold 9,000 season tickets in there at £300 and sold 6,000 match day tickets at £30 for every game, I’m convinced it’d be full every week.

wouldn’t have to be 6,000 extra seats. As said above If the prices were affordable we’d sell out. Lots of the empty seats now are due to having too many corporate areas in my opinion

we could even join level 1 and 2 in the south stand and create a larger singing area. We’ve got to do something, as we what have now doesn’t help atmosphere at all

city til I die is more of an anthem then blue moon to me. Easy to sing, everyone knows it… bizarre we don’t still sing it.

a brilliant chant that needs bringing back.
