Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

You sure this is true I screenshotted a picture of my ticket a few months ago to my Whatsapp and it wouldn't scan had to be through the Apple/Google pay app?
I did it mate. I screenshotted my ticket in my wallet and used the screenshot. Try it yourself tomorrow. If it doesn't work just act dumb and say oh sorry its wrong ticket then just do your normal way...but it will work anyway

Trying to be more Zen these days about the early leavers and non-singers. Even given up giving them a filthy stare as they clamber across me to get out at 75 mins - and unlike many - I am heading back every game to London, but make a point of clapping the boys back into the tunnel and I am almost the last one in the CBL3. But the point about traffic is very well made - when I cant take the train (like Wednesday night) we left the ground at 10.05pm and didn't pass Knutsford on the M6 till 11.45pm - got home at 3.25am. I know that's my choice living in London - but nearly two hours to get out of Manchester???

Why?

Hypothetic scenario. Two clubs with a similar chance of winning things, paying similar amounts, offering you a similar importance to the team.

One has fans who stay to the end and cheer the team off, one has a large volume who leave around 80 minutes because beating the traffic is more important.

Who do you pick?

Could be either, and yes it's a daft comparison, but for some it might just swing things. To the untrained observer, who doesn't know our past, what we've been through, how shit the transport around the stadium is - it may just look like we don't give a shit.

Late 90s, once we got over how shit the team was, we got behind what was a mediocre team and helped push them to promotions.

When we were going for out 1st recent title, the media team did a great job of pushing #together - this helped stop us getting on the players backs if things were going wrong. We stuck behind them, supported them and helped them to the title. Small margins mattered and I am fairly sure the fans made at least a points difference.

Now though? Pushing for a winner in an evening game? Yeah, some get behind the team. Lots do in fact, but lots have left early.

It's a shame it's got to this. I k ow everyone has their reasons, but I don't think it helps us in any way, and I don't know how that gets changed back.
You’re bang on. This needs calling out. Again. It’s, for the most part, about convenience, nothing more. Stay and cheer the fuckers over the line.

Anybody else think shooting away from the south stand in the second half effects the atmosphere? Does my head in that we constantly let the away team shoot towards there fans in the second half. Absolutely zero point in doing a toss up at start of the game cus no away captain will ever turn his team around
The two most iconic goals in our modern history, Sergio and Vinnie, were scored deep in the second half attacking the North stand. It is worth something psychologically I think. Your away fans point is valid and that could be helped by moving them up to level 3 in its entirety, like Newcastle, away from the pitch.

Absolutely not! They’d make so much noise up there every set of fans would drown us out.

That was the 2nd leg in Madrid not the Etihad as that ended goalless.
When did I say the 2nd leg was at Etihad? I was Talking about the 2nd half OF A semi final tie that was at the Etihad and It was 0-0, the atmosphere was like it was a regular PL game. Madrid won 1-0 at their home, if we scored a goal at Etihad in the first leg it could've gone to extra time.

You didn't but the way you worded it made it sound like that was what you were on about.
I highlighted it for your convenience.

We stay to the end every game but it takes us at least an hour to get out of the car park and onto Ashton Road before we can even get going on the drive home - it’s ridiculous.

Whilst it is a shame so many leave early to no doubt avoid getting caught in the inevitable queues to get out of a car park/join a main arterial road, I can see why they do it.

Maine Road wasn’t fantastic to get away from back in the day. Used to queue for ages trying to get out onto wilmslow rd but me and my mates wouldn’t have it any other way and that’s when we had an excuse to get out early because the football was dire most weeks. Lost by big margins too but loved the crack. Stay till the end you miserable fuckers..that’s to the majority.(not the minority who have to leave early for valid reasons.) shame on you and also sing you stiff idiots.when I’m sat amongst you in the ground starting a chant/song like I always do. Don’t look at me like I’m the village idiot. Join in and help get it going!! Enough said.
