Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

every game is the same unless its rags / scousers etc
been like this now for years.

i remember as a kid in the 1970's us in the kippax shouting " part time supporters, part time supporters " as the platt lane emptied early.

i just dont get it personally

i live local ,5 to 6 miles from.house to stadium and walk and only use public transport, still.takes 90 minutes

such an important game today, come through with flying colours and the team saw at best 30% of the crowd in the ground at the end
They are used to it so I wouldn’t worry too much.

Bored to tears!!!?? The game is won, most players out there are carrying knocks or have just come back from injury and we play two games a week for the next three weeks, every game a must win. Come on fella?! Also, as good as the narrative sounds, it won’t come down to goal difference. If we don’t win our remaining league fixtures, Liverpool win the league…even if we had put 10 past Watford today.

If you were bored to tears today then you either haven’t supported City for long or you need a prescription for high dose Sertraline sharpish!
Oh dear, do a bit of research before you try to slag someone off

Turn up join in, what’s the point otherwise?
Simple as that^

Football is 50% about what goes on on the pitch and 50% fan culture and atmosphere.

We all saw that the actual game on the grass isn’t even particularly good, when the fans weren’t there during the lockdowns. Football is quite a boring sport that’s made exciting by the fan culture that goes with it.

it's no wonder . 5-1 up after 53 mins and we turn it into a training session. goal difference could be absolutely vital .
i get the preserving energy bit but come on how many of those players at the end will start v RM.

i was bored to tears.
I was chatting to the bloke next to me for a lot of the second half, it was just a training game after the 5th.

Chattig about Grealish a lot.......could hardly hear ourselves though as some fucking happy clapper next to us was singing shite like 'you've had your day out'......etc, etc, etc.

in an ideal world you are spot on. sadly with VAR and the clear agenda against us we cannot ease up . ever .

Can't help but feel that any atmosphere 'issues' come from the arrangement of the stadium, ie splitting up the singing section into two can't help as well as shooting towards the family stand in every second half while half of them have left by the 70th minute. I would say that we definitely need more standing areas but i'm not sure on the safe standing laws at the moment. Surely making tier 1+2 north stand all standing/singing would make a huge difference?

I don’t really get what some people are after, if you really can’t bear to be sat in some traffic on a Saturday perhaps going to the same place as 50k people isn’t for them.
Also, yeah it was a bit of a precession after 50 odd mins so probably perfect time to make a racket considering the team have gone into control mode.
If that isn’t the case and you want to make the noise while the team is attacking then make an effort in the first half. Everyone’s bone idle and seem to enjoy being miserable.
There was a group of us at the back of ss3 singing about the fire drill.
just to add I wish we would fuck that dzeko song off, it’s fucking shit and gets sung at every home game, we don’t bother joining that most the time in ss3

Atmosphere is what it is in games like today, when we score in the first few minutes against second bottom who we routinely smash and stroll through the game, it's hard to get pumped up for it. if you think it's any different at Anfield or Stamford Bridge or old Trafford 10 years ago when they were relevant you'd be wrong.

The mass exodus before the whistle however is embarrassing, other clubs don't have that issue we have. The players deserve appreciation and they all regularly stay on the pitch and do a mini lap themselves usually to a half empty crowd. Its funny how nobody is desperate to get home after a Derby win or during the Liverpool match, nobody will be in a dash to the exits against villa if we manage to win the league, they only ever need to get out when we aren't playing a game with stakes as high as those.
good post . win lose draw or tedious i never leave early . the players deserve acknowledgement for their efforts .

Agree about making NSL1 standing, move the families out if they don’t want to stand, ensuring they bear no additional cost and extend the 18-21 price category to 18-25 to try and entice some “lads” into the area. Personally I’d make the back is SL3 standing as well but that’s not going to happen.

Mind the gap Man United chant was the one which got the ground singing today even seen the family stand clapping that and joining in feel the acoustics aren't great but if it's loud enough we can get past that no problem

I just think how shit it must be for the players and pep. Leeds under 23 game at elland road last night had a better atmosphere than ours today. Keep reading our ground is no different to any other ground absoulte bollocks no other ground has a team top of the league but we do it should be rocking. What i dont get is fans on here defending it. Do you enjoy sitting in siIence with a miserable face. I said earlier in the year something on here about the atmosphere being shit and got called suspect. I am on here moaning about it because its boring going to watch City these days not because of the football but the atmosphere. Of course the atmosphere makes it 100 times better experience.

Watching the rerun now and the crowd sound great lol I don't remember it that way in the ground, particularly the second half.

Agree with this. We might never have a team as good as this again. Yet we get fans sitting like sulky teenagers.

South singing “Kippax kippax give us a song” at the east !

Sadly there seem to be an increasing proportion of people in the east stand who don’t even know what the kippax is
I keep hearing from the East stand concourse.
If I die in the KIPPAX Street
There will be ten red bastards at my feet.

people go to home games to be entertained nowadays so your not going to get an amazing atmosphere especially against teams like brighton and watford with all due respects. It's different in massive games against dippers and in european games though.

Credit to all the Blues that got behind the team today.I thought the atmosphere was OK. Thanks to the Blues who joined in with the singing in 209. There couldn’t have been any atmosphere in there because we pay too much for our seats lol. Come on City!
