Completely agree, never said acoustics is the only problem, but it's one of many problems. My main issue is that for the amount we sing throughout the game, the stadium could be so much louder than it actually is

And this is the real crux of the issue.

Many of the young lads round me were having an absolute ball last night singing their hearts out but also being near enough to the pitch to give some (usually!) good natured abuse to Chelsea players. Put those same young lads up in the heavens miles away from the action and some of their enthusiasm might wane.

Also the back of 115 is literally 5 yards from the concourse which probably facilitates easier consumption of their chosen half time refreshments. If they faced a 5 minute trek to the back of a mega stand this might not appeal to them so much

Posted similar, fair play that they're helping to fill seats but it was a joke around me, people wandering aimlessly looking for their seats for the first 25 mins of the game. Some then just choosing to sit anywhere and getting told to move when they've sat in someones seats. Stewards weren't fast enough to sort it out. The club need to put something out that tells first timers to go and find their seat before the game so they know where they're sat.

Some were just blatantly stood in the aisle filming, blocking the view of multiple people in the middle of the game, absolute no respect for the fans watching the game.

Like I said last night, too many going to football to say 'I was there' instead of watching the game.

I won't come down to tier 1 again unless it's the standing/singing section, I probably should have done that anyway as very few wanted to get involved in the chants around me.

Yesterday however, the sound Chelsea made in SS3 completely engulfed the stadium, and the sound we made in SS1 could barely be heard.

I'm sure if you were in SS1 the atmosphere sounded amazing, as they were singing constantly, however the Chelsea lot were far louder and that's purely because of acoustics.

Acoustics do matter to us, but they shouldn't.

Because we only have a few hundred singers (maybe a few thousand at a push), we need everything to give us more of an edge (which is why acoustics are important for us).

However, if you put 3k Poznan fans in the away end, the acoustics wouldn't matter one bit because ALL of them would sing and participate.

Acoustics can help, but the biggest driver of atmosphere is people. We need more people to buy into what we're doing and sing/shout/boo/swear/clap/scream/whistle/cheer.

Absolutely mate, just get behind the team instead of talking shit about work or what you had for tea (this happens regularly near me and gets on my tits)

Agree with you that more people need to participate, but the acoustics are so bad that if you're sat in 117 it's not very easy to hear what's going on in 114/115

The difference with Poznan is that they have some knobhead at the front with a megaphone telling everyone what to sing.

We have 114 singing follow follow, 116 singing blue moon, Kippax corner also singing follow follow but not in time with 114.

If the acoustics were better we might get a whole stand singing one song, a little bit like Chelsea did yesterday

We have had one stand/ the entire ground singing blue moon at once though. We just need more people to join in.

Plenty of away fans come to the etihad and acoustics play no part in how loud they are. I remember Wolves fans in particular a few years back with all 3 tiers singing in unison

Having one home end without away fans splitting up the sections would help massively
