Etihad atmosphere

Many went to the concourse 10 minutes before half time, as they thought the game was won, then they stayed for another pint, and it was probably about 2/3 full when united scored around me.

No game is ever over at 2-0.

Aye I'll admit I bombed it up at 43mins and didnt come back until 50mins. I thought it was won and I was planning my night out at half time.
Won't take the blame for any lack of atmosphere 3 minutes into the second half though, it's always dead initially after half time and the fact we couldn't get the ball off them and choked completely; the atmosphere had nothing to do with that.

No it wasn't but I was aware some wag would jump on it when I wrote it. As explained the first few players were just on their way out, even with the crowds delay I missed about 30 seconds at the most.

Wag? I haven't been married to a footballer for quite some time now.

Anyway, no malice, was only pointing out the funny side of you bemoaning the amount of people in the bogs at the start of the second half whilst also being one of them yourself. Hence the irony

wag. A person whose words or actions provoke or are intended to provoke amusement or laughter: clown.

I know but I wasn't stood there drinking or smoking and sometimes you have to go.

It was great but I do agree we had too many still in the bogs and concourse at the start of the second half. I nipped out for a slash just as the teams came out thinking it would be quiet and was shocked how many were still out there.
Posted the same thing yesterday mate, fully agree.

Okay, I will let you off this time. But next time you're going to be late back for the second half, I'm going to need a letter from your mam.

I shared this before the united game and for the first half we did it. We need to recreate this tomorrow. I know fans might be down still, but our captain and our team are asking for our support. Anyone lucky enough to go tomorrow should come back with no voice. No excuses anymore - get behind the team. if you are in the family stand or tier 3 sing/cheer/shout/boo the scousers.

Come on City !

The amount of people hanging around queuing and drinking before and after halftime was no different than normal (for a derby).

How about cheering the champs league anthem for a change. Booing seems to flatten. the mood for me.
I'm sure the players would prefer it. We have made our point over the years, time to move on.

And miss out joining the scousers booing the Heysel ban cos it wasn’t their fault?

Edit - cheap joke. I bow to their knowledge.

I agree with you. Against Basel in a dead rubber or in a group stage match it's fine.

But against Liverpool in a match in which you have to start well I don't understand the logic to booing it. I'm sure the players would appreciate if the boo boys gave it a rest and put as much effort in getting the ground rocking than they do booing because they're going to need our support like Hamburg in 08 to turn this one around.
