Etihad atmosphere

The match day experience is too watered down now, especially for a lot of our old-school support. Obviously the love for City is still there but it's just too much money and shite atmosphere. Still keep going back for more though, but I just fee there's something missing. Maybe that's the price of becoming hugely successful club, but then again it's the same at every club in the country now. I think the demographic of match goers now has gotten a lot older, and shifted more to the middle class.

Plus, it helps if you can go stand with your mates, but that is very difficult now as all seated.

Some of the vocal fans have been priced out or up (to the 3rd tier) and it will get worse if/when NS3 is done.

SSL was the cheapest area when we moved, now it is over £34 a game on average if you want to keep your loyalty points, which is expensive for start if you plan to go to 40 or 50 games per season.

Even Moonchester is getting obese as the club have been charging more and more until this season whilst reducing merit based away allocations.

I think it will get worse when the North Stand is done also.

It is a problem that fans dont sing but also the layout of the ground and pricing structure do not help either.

Like you said many singers have moved to SSL3, as I have, but up there you cannot hear or see the singing section so its possible to interact or join in.

The price of season tickets as you say is cheaper up top and many singers have moved up there, when that happens in the North Stand also the problem will be exacerbated.

With city having been all seater since the 94/95 season, for 22 years - i'm a bit sick of the whining the last few season about boo hoo i can't go stand with my mates. Have we been whingeing about atmosphere for 22 years?

Prices and the rules and corporate side of things can have altered atmosphere yes - i'm skint for example, but fans have sat for 22 years - in fact if anything they've had it easy the last 5 years with city letting certain blocks stand anyway!

Atmosphere was reasonable tonight considering there was nothing to play for. Celtic noisy but I've heard louder from quite a few other European clubs fans.
