Immediately thought about bacon sarnies after I typed that to be fairI am starving :)
Totally agree with your post, never get the safe standing argument improving the atmosphere as we have it unofficially now anyway.Quite a few people have said they thought the atmosphere was good which just goes to show how shit it usually is.
I think our support is at its best when we're losing or if there is an injustice like a wrongful dismissal or a dirty challenge on one of ours goes unpunished etc or when we're playing a top four side which is arrogant really!.. I reckon most Can't be arsed v Sunderland cos of the it's only Sunderland mentality.
Whilst I'm having a moan I'll question how hungry are we all?.. none of us thought we'd see City win anything so I kinda understand those who are content but for me I see it like we have a shit load of money a manger who can attract the best players in the world so let's have it, the 6-1 and aguero moment will never be forgotten but let's move forward lets win as many cups as possible and make the rags even more miserable and whilst we're doing it sing a few fucking songs.
Atmosphere was fine today. It's been much worse in the past.
It was 1-0 for a long time, and that gives rise to a bit of uncertainty too, and by the time they sucker punched us to 1-1 you'd expect a certain amount of deflation.
You can't trust TV sound, there are way too many factors involved in how they mic up the crowd to ever use that as a measure.
Surprised you saw any of the game with all your people watching. Especially with the very specific timings you were making.Down in 111 yesterday, so right next to the away fans. They didn't make to much noise either. From what I saw, and heard, a fair few of the fans down near the away fans just spend most of their time shouting obscenities to each other, calling each other wankers, that silly fucking arms wide stance offering out someone for a non existent bout of fisticuffs. Not that much singing going on. Even when we scored, the immediate reaction isn't to celebrate with the team, it's to goad the away fans - calling them wankers, and once again offering them out for the non existent fight.
Another one I noticed a lot of yesterday was people just standing around chatting to each other. I get it's the first game of the season, and maybe some people want to catch up with someone they only see at the games, but there's half time for that. One bloke in front of me spent the last 8 minutes of the first half just talking to his mate, they weren't watching any of the game at all.
I suppose people pay their money, and once in the ground they can do what they want - within reason.
You might laugh but maybe the clocks showing the time instead of how long had been played confused people it did me a nd the people around us lolSS3 wasn't particularly good yesterday.
I was hoping after the Chelsea game last season it would have been rocking, sadly last season on the pitch didn't help but yesterday it just carried on from May.
We need to up our game up there.
The Sunderland fans up there were very vocal.
The one plus was not too many early leavers for a change although a couple of regular guys near me arrived on 16 mins, went to the bar 5 mins before ht and arrived back after 60 mins......each to their own but they missed almost half the game.
