Its 2016 football has changed immensley in the last 10 years. Sadly a consequence of those changes is a lack of atmosphere at least in the english game.
As a home and away supporter ive been to plenty of places liverpool, palace, stoke to name just three which used to have a great home support but are now like a morgue for most games.
Its pretty much a given now in fan bases that away fans will always make more noise than the home fans.
Don't see that changing anytime soon either.
Debate it all you like but despite the best efforts of groups like 1894 its a losing battle

I think it's hard to get anything going watching these type of games. Attack v defence for 85 of the 90 minutes is dull as a sporting spectacle. Very little to get the crowd going today. I couldn't watch them week in week out. They are wank.

2 points down the shitter today. Worse result this season in the prem based on quality of opposition.

I imagine their fans sing a lot because it's the most fun thing to do, their football certainly won't keep them warm.

it wasnt great today. the main problem i think is the average age of the crowd. I'm 22, today i looked around and noticed the majority of our fans are middle-aged men, there is no youth culture ( 18-25) at city anymore. unless you can reverse that there is no hope of it improving. the other thing i hated today was even when we scored there was no encorougment, no celebrations nothing...... just moaning. the 1894 group have a problem in the south stand as they are the only ones singing, why aren't the rest singing.

I didn't think it was that bad, it was just normal.

What i thought was bad, no absolutely cringeworthy was the oh kevin de bruyne singing over the seven nation army watching the barca highlights just before kick off.

Hahaha I don't know why people bother even going to games just to slag of the atmosphere. Today was fine, but the longer the game went the more nervous we got, in the end we realised why.

Once again 20 or so fans trying to get the songs going, while 1500 just stand there in complete silence.

Flogging a dead horse, bar the big games. Even then it's only if City are winning.

The sooner City create a proper singing section, and fill it with fans who want to sing, the better.

As it is, that isn't going to happen, unless the North stand is expanded.

agree from where i was the only bit i could see singing/clappign was the group at the back of the stand ( they need to move further down imo). the rest of the south stand have forgotten how to sing. why go in a singing section and not sing is beyond me. it applies to the corner aswel though. keep it up though as your the only bit making any noise and the flag displays are awesome, could do with some more unique flags designs though.

i mentioned in another post, its the crowd age that is killign us, most people are middle aged, there is no youth culture or barely any young lads going.

No wonder. Watching that shite every week must be almost as bad as we had under Pearce. I'm surprised so many showed up.

The ironic thing is that when they attacked they actually looked quite dangerous on the couple of times they did it.
