You only have to look around you outside the ground before the match, the fans are made up of so many tourists. Cameras, half and half scarves and purely at the game for a premier league experience. Nothing wrong with it but there are so many and it seems to be at the expense of local support. But saying that, even local fans seem more interested in looking at their phones, going to the bar on 35 mins and getting back late. Football crowds I am afraid are becoming like rugby crowds.
i think thats a complete exaggeration. the majority of fans going are long standing blues. we barely have any tourists compared to other teams. even west ham id say have more. just watch match of the day most aren't tourists at city. the problem is long standing fans have forgotten how to support the team. barely any singing whatsoever. theres no buzz before the games either, no singing in the pubs.
we have the south stand where 95% of it dont sing. just stand there arms folded. the kippax corner has died for some reason aswel.. there is just excuses all the time now, nervous, playing style, ... its as if we have to be shit to have a good atmosphere, which is a load of bollocks. best owner in the world, best players, mazing football most weeks and its still shit. this is a problem at all rounds though.
