Etihad atmosphere

It doesn't. I was more talking about the lack of enthusiasm about attending games in general. The songs are shite now. At least when the "invisible man" "stand up if you love city" "blue moon" and poznan was done after goals etc the whole crowd would get involved. Now it's the shite Guardiola song and not much else. i think the mindset has changed in recent years. Alot expect to win the league and everything else is failure. When we won it in 2012 I don't think we really believed we would until after the Newcastle game and two years later until after the everton game.....We were still the underdog. We have suddenly been thrust into the "favourites" every year and it is weighing heavily on players and fans.

thats the problem, those songs are still sung, but no one is joining in with them. the worst i found it was the other week against boro. we scored and there was absoloutle nothing. i dont think you have to be the under dog to have a good atmosphere. we literally need 100 non stop singers in the south stand. thats all celtic and palace have and tbh it would help so much if the 1894 moved to the front so people could hear them. I'm sick of the oh what a night song, no one is going to join in with that when we are playing chelsea, why not songs like city til i die..

even when we are losing there is no singing. under mancini/ pelle battering teams it wasn't great every game. i just think people can't be bothered and i really dont get why. why come to a game and sit in complete silence and then leave ten minutes before the end. its not just us though. every single club this is a problem. everton, west ham, sunderland its the same there and they are underdogs swell.

It's fucking weird mate. That 'Boro game was one of the hardest to get an atmosphere going and that was on the back of the Barca game in midweek which we won.

Of the 3 teams you mention, all of them have played at our place this season and my assessment of them is that Sunderland were the loudest by a mile. West Ham only got going when they got a goal back. Everton sell out away games all over the country but have some of the quietest fans in the league.

its pissing me off tbh. its a major part of why i go. sometimes i feel embarrassed just getting up and trying. i hate going and just beign silent. that boro game made me question what is the point of trying. i agree with your assessment, but i was referring more to their home grounds. the stadium of light, olympic park, goodison are silent as anything, you go on their forums and they are having the exact same conversations. away fans from most teams are good. there are no home grounds in the premier league with consistently good noise levels.

Even the goal celebrations today were muted. I went for a piss as the players celebrated and the drinkers in the back couldn't tell if it was us who had scored!

Up in SS3 you can't hear SS1 at all so it must be a sound issue in the stadium. In SS3 it started well last season but now it's back to like anywhere else in the stadium.

its just bizarre. its as if the crowd have had no sleep. maybe the club should hand out some red bull or cocaine and wake the crowd up. ;)

Kudos to the lads trying all the things trying to get it going again but I fear it has gone for good. Safe standing, if it ever comes back, may make the difference but I am not so sure. Is it overkill with football, too much stewarding and nannying, people becoming more insular and soft, with football being just a small part of their interests instead of the main one? All these and many more reasons mentioned I believe.

There are people stand near me in the south stand who never speak to each other never mind sing and I am totally serious. It is only the fact they haven't fallen down I know they are still alive. It is bizarre.

You know what pisses me off? People moaning about the atmosphere. Pep riling up the crowd today. Sorry, but the crowd are entitled to cheer when they want.

You want a raucous atmosphere? Make us.

Mancini didn't have a problem with it. He has a passionate squad get the crowd into it by their actions.

You want to crowd to scream for nothing as you take off a centre back for a has been left back, give over.

Pep, you have our backing, but focus on your own job rather than focusing on what the crowd choose to do.
