Etihad atmosphere

2 words for that performance "Typical City" .....Atkinson lost the plot....It was absolutely bouncing at 2-0 up! Need to get behind the team in a big way on Tuesday!! I think we'll fly out the traps and score 2 early goals!!

we need to repeat the first half all game against the scousers. its frustrating though because we have been capable of creating that kind of noise for years now, but we haven't. our fans can be some of the loudest in england, but we dont do it enough.

It won’t happen. It’s a completely different set of fans at CL games. The coach incident might stir things up a bit but I can’t see it after yesterday’s disappointment however much we May want it to happen

probably. tbf the same set of fans that went yesterday barely sing for most games ( league games are quiet as anything most of the time), so you never know. there are more then enough fans that go to champions league games that can create an amazing atmosphere swell.

Liverpool have only won the league cup in 10 years and so they have that hunger, desire and desperation for success that leads to passionate fans and a great atmosphere. We were the same in the past look at Uts semi hamburg etc. The more we win the lest passionate we become. Not really sure how we address this apart from maybe gdtting rid of the sheik.

For some Champions League games maybe. But not this one. It will be largely City season ticket holders and regulars. That's who it sold out to.

The guy next to me spent the entire day moaning about half and half scarves. On the way out, I walked up the aisle with a group who he had pointed out, and it turned out they were City fans who travelled from France for their boy's birthday who is a City fan. They bought the half and half scarves as souvenirs. A nicer family you could not wish to meet. If City fans are going to sell their tickets for the Derby, or Champions League games then you are going to get families or new people coming to the ground. Rather that than empty seats. I thought it was absolutely great that a family had travelled from france to see City. Maybe they don't support the team with the same intensity as we do, but maybe the young lad will when he is older. That was his birthday wish to see City so perhaps he was entitled to be there as anyone else.

The corporate argument is a myth in my opinion. The club may value their money, but it does not damage the atmosphere. What damages it is the attitude of fans who are conditioned by expectation. The proof: we have the maximum possible corporate turn out possible on Derby Day and we get a great atmosphere so it's entirely up to yo if you sing. Corporates wont be here for the games that are quiet, but some will say it's not the same, too many corporates spoiling the atmosphere. 'Wasn't like this back in the day.'

Standing is gone forever. Safe standing in seats. We already have it. But we can still create an atmosphere when we want to

It's up to you.

Thought the first half yesterday was sensational -
It was. And great pre-match display as well. That might have been the best I have seen.

It was a great derby. Whetted the appetite for winning the league and doing it all over again next season

They think they are on their way back. They are not. It's going to be fun

That atmosphere, for 90 mins, will win us most big games v any team. Including Champions League games.

There is no excuse now. The ground isn't stopping us from generating noise, only the attitude of those in it.

If everyone is up for it, then we can put the shits up anyone who comes to our place & that can go up another level if they build a proper end to help it.

Agree with everyone about the first half, in 107 in the East Stand and it was bouncing. Problem seemed to be at the start of the second half most of the louder fans were either still in the bogs or swilling ale on the concourse. Most were not back in their seats until about 10 mins into the second half and by that time we were looking very flat on the pitch. The noise level needs to be there when the team come back onto the pitch not 10 mins later.
Whilst the noise level wont win us the match alone, its just another one of those things that when you add it to the players, coaching, manager, nutrition, ball boys/girls etc that give the competitive advantage

completely agree. there aren't any excuses anymore. we can blame the acoustics and other things as much as we want. sounds simple, but its up to the fans in the ground to get off their backsides ( like yesterday) and actually sing. on our day we are the some of the loudest fans in england, but we just don't do it enough. its frustrating, after all the years of having crap atmosphere when we can produce that.

tuesday should be 90 minutes of singing and booing the liverpool players. we did it for most of the game yesterday... and the players need our support.

I’ve had a season ticket for 30 years but I admit I’m not generally a singer. I know I should be but I’m not.

However yesterday I shouted myself hoarse and I’ll be doing the same again on Tuesday.

If we can’t get behind this team with everything we’ve got when we’re under attack - literally by scumbag scousers and in the press - then we never will.

We need every advantage we can possibly get to beat them.

Something the club need to start doing is turning the music off before kickoff, it was starting to get going in ss3 but we couldn’t hear each other for some shite dance music

They fucked it up yesterday The sheets said hold up on the team entry and during PL music The announcer was premature, what followed was great, the display and then na na... City singing, suddenly they stop the music and started the right here right now which killed the singing. The team came out and only 50% held-up the sheets so the display looked crap. Thought the atmosphere in first half was terrific worse thing that happened was half time

First half was the best it's been in the new stand, but there were so many that missed the start of the 2nd half that the atmosphere was gone. It reflected in how we played, and there were loads still taking their seats after Utd had equalised.

This is true, down to us to sing, forget if you see a half and half scarf or a few tourists, there are still 50k blues in there. We can sing, we aren't diluted with tourists, just diluted with genuine fans that wont sing unless it just after a goal or we are winning 3 nil. Proved this Saturday, it was bouncing up until half time.

Was so much better being stood up in SS3 in the first half, obviously the game had a huge effect but even before they scored people were sat down again. The biggest issue more than anything, standing, ticket prices, accoustics whatever is the fact for most games people just cant be bothered.
