Etihad atmosphere

The worst thing we did was making the north stand a family section. We need another group of singers on that side to get the atmosphere going round the whole ground.

At the very least it'd be filled rather than empty seats due to kids not going.

Says he, sat at home watching on TV? So, your mate braved the weather but you couldn't be arsed? Then you come on here and comment on the empty seats..
Well technically my seats weren't empty lol. I wasn't criticising was merely making a point.

Do people really not bother turning up because the weather is a bit grim?

But surely you understand the irony of sitting in front of your TV, having given someone else your SC because you don't fancy the weather, notice the empty seats and then comment on this thread. I'm not having a go at you personally, but there's likely to be some inclement weather in the next few months, so what constitutes acceptable weather to attend a game? I do a 200 mile round trip every home game and it would need a storm of biblical proportions to make me even consider not attending.

Just sayin...

Ground is nowhere near full 10 minutes before kickoff, thousands head for the exits on 40 minutes and there are thousands of empty seats at the start of the 2nd half. There is too much "artificial" fan rousing going on from the club before the game, a simple bluemoon rendition is plenty and any fan noise is getting drowned out by the tannoy system. All clubs are the same, only when it is a big game do the fans get excited no matter what club it is .

edit for you, the ground is nowhere near full 10 minutes after the start of the game

Slightly off topic but I can't help thinking that if City attacked the South Stand end in the 2nd half it would help the atmosphere. 95% of matches is the other way round. 115 did their job again yesterday I thought :-)

this, need to attack where the most of the singing is, let the away team attack away from there fans in 2nd half

Fucking hell.... Calm down.

I have sat in the north stand about 5 times and its never been full. and bloody kids playing games on there phones/pads while the game they are there to watch is in play. if the kids don't want to be there leave them at home and someone else can have there seat, all this about family stand and the kids / most of the kids just go and play games or talk about summet ALL GAME

Thing is, a lot of kids get dragged along when they don't want to go, or their 'support' is still very much in its infancy and they're not really old enough to handle 90s minutes of football, especially in crap weather or a dull game etc. But - their dad / mother might not want to miss the game as the ticket's been paid for, and they can't always stay at home if they are single parents, or there's some other circumstance preventing it. It's awkward for all concerned, but that's modern life.

There's also a lot of parents who take their kids along, but the son / daughter aren't really as into it as the parents are (I'm talking older kids / youths here). Again, what can you do? - the modern game is far less about the die hard fan and more about entertainment now, and as such, it's becoming more of a leisure activity than a true passion.

thankfully the players make that decision, rather than the non singing ,singing section,

I usually defend the atmosphere but on Saturday it was the worst i have heard in a while. It may have been nerves due to a couple of bad results but it was very flat. I thought the so called singing section was mute and i am just to the left of them, even when the stand at the side sang ''South stand south stand give us a song!'' there was hardly a peep to be heard.

I agree though that we need to attack the south stand in the second half i have no idea why we have always chosen the North/family stand.

we've all got to contribute to the atmosphere, we can't just come on here and complain it's wank.
So let's start tonight,

In the words of our favourite drunk to chef

"where are you? Let's be 'aving you!"

I'd be thankful these kids are there to make the place look full. You say let someone else have their seat, it's not like we are packed to the rafters is it? Them kids aren't stopping anyone else going.
