Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Looks good, but sort of spoils the original design of the stadium. The oval shape has been lost to a kind of open flower petal shape. And in hindsight, one end is now too close to Ashton new road. Hopefully it doesn't restrict access all the way around the stadium like Old scaffold does.

Strange post.

It's not even close to the road. It only goes slightly further than the original main ground supports.

The changing of the design isn't an issue. You can't not build an extension because you don't want to ruin the original design.

Edit: Looked through alfabianchi's post history and he's a rag. Nearly all his posts are in United threads or have links to United in them and there's one or two cleverly disguised digs at City thrown in as well. Must say, I thought his about post was a bit weird.

Looking at the Video it goes back quite some bit, looks to be going back over half the existing space available there at the moment so when you consider how long them queues can get on night games, congestion / movement around the ground could be a small problem

Think the new shape will look great though IMO more so when both sides are done

Will there be public access to any of the collar site. A cafe or something like that. Will make a cool visitor attraction.

If you mean the training/academy/campus, then no, apart from the obviously public parts like the 'Minihad' stadium.

If you actually mean the collar site (ie the area immediately around the stadium itself and the land it connects onto like the north car parks) then this is earmarked for what are essentially visitor attractions so by definition will be open to the public.

A few people seem to have been confused by the distinction between the Collar Site and the Campus/Acadamy.

If you just go back and read the last 500 or 600 pages then it should all become clear.

Well, when I say clear......

It goes slightly past the two central supports so lots of room.

Looking at the video it goes to the edge of that white circle,, which looks to be using about half of the space available , not that much room when you consider there's the fence surrounding the ground separating it from the footpath and road ... That fence looks to be in the middle of the tar jack on that picture,, that would have to be put back to the edge or there will be about 20ft free

Should not be a problem they already fence of that bit for away fans at present, however how will they vet away fans in future?

When they do the North stand they will have to re-locate City Square.

Not sure if it's posted, but I saw a video yesterday of Sky Sports saying that the stadium expansions is underway and this guy in it said that they are adding a few rows on the front. Has that been mentioned by the club yet? I've not seen it anywhere.
