Difficult to see from where I was but it looked like front row of East Stand had gone. Row behind me at South Stand Upper tier was gone

No sign of Log Flumes I'm afraid but at least we now have our own waterfall in 111 (sorry don't know how to put pic right way up from my phone)
Was some poor sod sat under that?
2 girls who had to stand in the aisle
Whoops when they opened the drain in 212 it got rid of a loverly lake of water

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Can someone tell me what our "record" gate is at The Etihad.? I have always believed it to be against QPR - Sergioooooooooooooooo! - of 47,444.
Some others say different.!.

As already stated last night - 45,471 - not quite 2,000 down - Should imagine that until January our capacity will be around 45,500.

The Etihad capacity is always stated as 47,705 - but we will never achieve this - because of segregation - and Showsec standing between rows.

Yes, me. Right above my seat and where I stand.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Reported it that Morning when I was helping the 1894 Group with their display. Was told it was the overflow tap and it would be switched off before the start of the match. As you can see from that picture (and one's I've taken) it was still on during the match. Had to watch the match through it, around it, with water dripping over me, and also on the other fans stood next to me.
We must be near neibours jrb , I'm the little fat fucker that stands next to the girls that moved to the aisle

If they add a few more of these fountains, then they could do away with all the electronic ad boards...

800 seats have been lost temporarily at the south stand + 900 around the 1st row (at present) and with the end seats taken out. The end seats are permanently removed due to the fact that only a certain amount of people can sit in the "new block" when the extra 3 rows are added. This is due to number of people using the aisles. Thought the temporary works were well done last night and the supporters seemed tolerant at the inconvenience during the building.
When did you say that the first font row seats would be added? I recall you mentioning two dates, January and March?

Is there a timetable for when the SE and SW corner seats will return? I take it from your comment above that the "800 seats temporarily lost" are the corners plus the last row. Are the corners returning or gone for good? Thanks

Yes the seats will be handed back in two tranches in January and March - East Stand in January / South and North in March from memory.

The Corner seats not until start of next season. Note - another block is being added to the ends of the upper tiers as well during these works. Not sure if people are aware of that.

Should tell the" Management" that this would be a good beer outlet - if we bring our own tankards. (This is a reference to another poster who was complaining of poor service at the bars.)

I thought the record gate, at the time at least, was against Liverpool on New Year's day a few seasons back. It was a sell out, but they also had virtually no segregation. That was before the QPR game and Wikipedia shows QPR as the record at 47,435, but I think they added some seats in the south stand near the video screen.

As for capacity, it's normally quoted as 48,000, hence we've never sold it out...

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Capacity changes from season to season depending on what they are putting in and taking out, particularly with regard to seats for corporate hospitality. The telegraph quoted 47,805 for domestic football in 2011 and that's the most that I've seen for premier league games. This article is where wiki got its figure from. By quoting this figure it looks like they actually asked someone at the time.

Now, the maximum depends on how many columns they take out for segregation, either by removing them or putting black cloth over the seats. I've seen all the seats in the south stand in place only on a couple of occasions. I think that one was Fulham and the other Wigan. So whilst the City sections were filled the away supporters had their own personal steward.

It's quoted as 48,000 probably because they round it up.

We never had this problem with Swales as we could actually get more people in than the official capacity, so if it was stated as a sell out it really was a sell out (on the official capacity).

Did Gray manage ok last night with the rain and the metro
Yes thank you, although there was a twenty minute wait at Navigation Road for a tram which scuppered my plans to grab a couple of 1894 badges from Alberto. Then they had run out of ponchos so had to hang about while they found some more, just made it for kick off.

Found my seat to be knackered and would not fold up and down without extreme effort, reported it to the Club today and they have promised to fix it.

Left in the last minute when the Pool player collapsed with nobody near him and got on to the tram platform as the final whistle went. After about a six minute wait an announcement was made saying the tram to town would arrive in two minutes and would be a single unit typical Metrolink.

Have kept the poncho for Saturday just in case all the stock has gone at the first match.

I like things to be organised thank god for Pellegrini.

Good job you made the first tram or you probably would still be there

We went to City Square for a pint after the game and to wait till the queue went down.
After half an hour it was still right up to the kiosks, so we walked instead.

Kentucky Blue! The grass I bought from a firm in Warrington was called Something* Blue. Was still green when it came.

guessing 'artificial pitch / astro turf' for evening and night time use for the team and the community most probably. Blue might show up better under lights at night than green?

Am I right when I say the new tiers behind the goals will hold more than the current third tiers down the side? Should an some epic scale to the stadium if so.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

The tunnel screen is absolutely top quality, but it's a still image throughout. No animations at all, just a static picture of a Nissan Car. The ad does not change at all throughout the whole tunnel cam. I know we don't want distracting flashing ad's whilst the team wait but does seem overkill for just an image.

Digital poster, saves having the man come along with his paste and brush every fortnight to change it, no doubt all at the flick of a switch. Maybe something for ticking a box if the stadium is to be used as CL venue once the expansions are completed, UEFA can then put their sponsors on it. I have no doubt it will make us money along the line somewhere because that is how Soriani operates.
