Once the North Stand is expanded it will match the South Stand exactly and thus we will have an aesthetic symmetry to the ground with North and South Stands looking exactly alike and East and West stands looking exactly alike.
Does anyone know if there is a date for starting and completing the North Stand or does it depend upon sales of tickets for the new South Stand expansion ?
As mentioned before, If we want to ensure we have the second highest club capacity in England\UK (and hopefully can fill it) at just over 61,000, just behind that of Utd, wont we need to in fact start work on the North Stand next summer also and have that ready for 2016 - 2017 season ?
Other clubs expansion plans:
Liverpool
Current Stadium
45,522
Expanded Stadium
54,000 (Aug 2016)
58,800 (no date yet – depends upon demand for tickets)
Tottenham Hotspur
Current Stadium
36,310
New Stadium
58,000 (Aug 2018 - delayed from Aug 2017)
West Ham Utd
Current Stadium
35,303
New Stadium (Olympic Park)
54,000 (Aug 2016)
Everton
Current Stadium
40,158
(new ground being looked at)
Chelsea
Current Stadium
42,055
(new ground being looked at)
Man City
47,726
46,708 (2014 – reduced capacity whilst stadium is in the process of being expanded)
Expanded Stadium
Phase 1 and Phase 2 -
54,000 (South Stand 6,000 seats) (Aug 2015)
55,000 (3 rows around the ground = 1,000 seats) (Aug 2015)
Phase 3 -
61,000 (North Stand 6,000 seats) (no date yet ?)
61,000 would put us at about 14th in European stadium capacities I believe
If we get gates of 61,000 it would put us 2nd highest on attendances in England and 7th highest in all of Europe
Surely better to have the extra capacity (61,000) even if we don't quite fill it for all games.

Progress on the stands has been good i am told. The real pinch point is next summer when the main contractor has about a month together on the pitch and take the roof down, it's tight to say the least. If you noticed the concrete walls at the front of the two block near the singing corner were down vs chelsea - I expect the concrete rows will be formed by the spurs game, it's great to see the progress week on week.
Can't understand why they didn't leave the end of row seats at the back of the lower tier in until the new front 3 rows were installed. Did I also notice that the concrete on the acces tunnel in the north west corner has been painted???
