Would be nice for Football Focus to be broadcast from the CFA
With perhaps the Women's team captain
Why seek publicity?
Let us just get on with the job of creating the best club in the World. We don't need people to come and admire all the shiny things we are so lucky to have. Football is the God, and all our talking can be done on the field!

Do`es anyone else get the feeling that the rest of the worlds media and UEFA in general will soon be rising from their slumbers, and opening just one eye, whilst the enevitable aroma of sweet smelling cofee gently whaft`s across their open nostrils.

Maybe they will then wake fully and realize their worst nightmare is all true. And there is no way to stop this juggernaught that is CITY.

I think the opening of the CFA, along with the attendant putative sponsorship deals (seemingly from non-Abu Dhabi companies), will be the moment that the light goes on for a number of casual, displeased observers of the 'project' who support other clubs.

At first, when casting their eyes upon City after 1/9/08, all they could see was a perennially underachieving club that had won the lottery. That utter clown Sulaiman Al-Fahim certainly did little to disabuse them of that notion and they reassured themselves that this was all a whimsical vanity project that would soon run out of gas when the limitations of a club "without history" imposed itself upon its dealings in the transfer market. This view was, of course, fortified by the rather haphazard and, at times, poorly executed transfer MO in the early part of the Mansour years.

Wind forward a few years and these observers have reconstructed their perceptions about the club to suit their preconceptions about the longevity and sustainability of the 'project'. So consumed by disdain for what they saw, they focused in on the 'financially doped' Etihad deal, our occasional below capacity attendance and our narrow failure of FFP as evidence that all that Sheikh Mansour was building as being built on sand.

In the next few weeks the way these deluded fools will perceive Manchester City will irrevocably shift. Their bile won't recede. It may, in fact, become more heightened, but rather than be fueled entirely by envy and bewilderment at how this "nothing" football club could come to occupy the place it currently resides in the footballing firmament, it will then be driven by fear and a realisation that they were completely and hopelessly wrong about the scale, scope and ultimate intentions of something that they widely dismissed and ridiculed.

We've known it's been coming for a while, but the rest of football is about to wake up to the tsunami that is about to hit the beach.

Top Post. Revenge is sweet!

Absolutely............and best served cold!!

Thanks to jrb, and his excellent pictures, we have all got used to seeing what is on the outside, and it looks very very good, but what none of us really know is what is on the inside, and this is what might be really exciting for young and old.

Buildings are great, but its what they house that's important, its not that long ago that we only had Platt Lane, and I'm sure many of us older blues went in there, and thought it was good.

This state of the art facility they've built is going to have the very best of everything available, and most of us probably don't have the first idea of what that involves.

I'm looking forward to hearing the views of people like Lampard, new to the club, Hart, been here a long time, when they move in, football pitches are football pitches, but this will be their workplace, and moving to a new one is a big deal, no matter who you work for, it will be interesting to hear what they all think of it.

MP obviously likes it, and will have seen the insides, and this is what none of us really know about, I can't wait to see the rest of the reactions.

My mate works for the FA and was given a tour a few months ago. He says, unsurprisingly, that it's the best in the world

Would be nice if MCFC had someone sky blue on FF to be broadcast from the CFA. They will be down in due course, but I suspect that Dion Dublin, Herman Munster, Dirty Dan et al will be roped in to suggest that the plastic pitches are a bit 'plasticky', the 7000 seater stadium will never be bursting at the seams, the trek from the car parks is quite lengthy and the connecting bridge was constructed by a bunch of playgroup children out of Lego!

Have just heard that first game now is likely to be the U19s game v Bayern Munich in November.

The 1st team move in 1 week today.

The bridge will be in operation for the Spurs game.
