Thanks for the pics. I must say though as impressive as everything is - don't like the "pipe" look of the cladding on the academy building. Smooth would have been nicer imo.

See I really like that, think it looks great. The only thing I dont like is the bridge, bit underwhelmed by it - it was a great chance to make an architectural statement thats been missed imo.

They went away from the original idea of making a statement with the bridge as they didn't want it to become more icon than the plans for the rest of the Campus

FYI

The Academy will be moving from Platt Lane in October. Had the option for July but decided it would interfere with important pre season training and would rather wait until all Ts crossed and I`s dotted before making the move.

Academy players (and families) will be treated best in the world from what I have seen. Hope they dont get too much to soon and loose the edge. However I know City are aware of that and will try to address it.

Will that be the same for the first team as well do you know? It's been rumoured on this thread that they wouldn't be moving in till around October as well.

What will the overall capacity be once both the North & South ends are finished? 65,000?

Will the Etihad Campus be apart of the current stadium tour as and when it is finished? Or is it not open to the public? Be great to have a walk around and see the place.

I still don't get why they're not starting the new rows round the pitch straight away.

I'm pretty sure they have remodel the pitch and resurface the the concrete steps a bit to slightly reduce the gap between rows...
