That mini stadium is better than a lot of League One and League Two grounds.

Looking at all the pics over the last week it's looking like it might not be finished until very late 2014/early 2015.

1st team and the Academy teams are due to move in in October because they are 3 months behind on construction

What will happen to Carrington when we move out? Do we own it?

Wiki can be wrong but I think it's right on this one:

Manchester City's lease on the green belt land is due to expire within the next few years

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Just received a letter from MCFC telling me due to stadium expansion i am losing my aisle seat. Turns out they are doing the family stand at the same time as the South Stand (although not the new tiers). So on Monday i can choose a new seat for the season ahead, then be reallocated back to the family stand if i wish. And my son i ask - he sits next to me, hence the reason for being in the FS. 'Oh, err he doesnt need to move'
Err yes he does.
God i hope i can get through to someone that can sort this on Monday.

Eh? What are they doing in the family stand then if not building anything?

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Er widening the aisles for the increasing number of fat bastards!

See obesity or should that be obeCity thread in the Cellar!

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Just received the letter telling me I am going to lose the aisle seat I have had since the Kippax days and have already paid for.

This is so they can fit more rows of seats at the front and to stop all the twats who will probably leave early anyway, like many others, getting crushed in the aisle.

Fucking progress!

They did simler with my lad for the cup games last year, I was on the schemes but he wasn't so when I bought him his tickets online he ended up in the 3rd tear sat with his m8 whist me and my m8 had our regular seats,, not too bad I here you thinking sat with his m8 on the 3rd tier !! The lads are 7 and 8 year old ..

Used to be that s/t holders had 1st dibs on there seats for cup games but not last year.. Lucky enough I noticed it when we got the email, as it was my m8 who did the online purchase and never noticed that the lads was not in there seats.. we then all had to relocate to 3rd tier which cost me more to do so,, asked the guy when I called why his seat had gone already , and at least he was honest enough to say its to encourage parents to put there kids on the cup scheme if they want to sit together...

City are amazing with loads of things they do for fans and families but sometimes let themselves down with the most basic things, was surprised that they even let the purchase through in the 1st place for two very young lads sat without a adult..

Also just had a letter telling me I have to move. Apparently they are shutting down the front row of level one all the way round the ground . Again no mention of this when I renewed. They will be putting three extra rows in the front. According to the letter I have to sort a new seat on Monday, but they don't say anything about finding out what seats are available to me. Also they say I will be given first option on pitch side seats for the following season, but having looked at the plans it looks like watching from a bloody foxhole.
Anyone else on the front row in the same boat?
Tempted to say just move me back one row but am not sure what to do really. Have asked my mates about where they sit but they are apparently surrounded by season ticket holders so that is a no go.

Slightly annoyed they hadn't mentioned this before but more annoyed that I only get Monday to sort it really, as I am at work while they are open and can't always "step out " to ring city .

Me and my lad used to sit in row 2 (or B if you will) and whilst we had no complaints about the view in general, we've moved a back about 10 rows and feel just as close to the pitch but with a much better view.

I would highly recommended seeing if you can keep in your same block (assuming you like it there) and just going back about 8+ rows (you really will not feel much further away from the pitch).

I certainly wouldn't go back to the lower rows now.

Cheers that's an option that hadn't occurred to me

Are they really widening the aisles? All the way round? Do they have to? Another thing to cause the atmosphere to suffer.

MEN reporting chaos after One Direction concert at the Etihad. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co...-news/one-direction-traffic-fans-hit-7198179
Wonders what will happen when there's 62k there?

This is really down to the behaviour of concert goers (esp young ones). The traffic is twice as bad because of parents attempting to drop them off outside, then collect them later. It's a very different traffic pattern than a normal football game.
You can add unfamiliarity with the route too. Most matchday goers have a decent grasp of the traffic situation and the journey times, but you're talking 60,000 people who don't go there very often.

And of course, a lot of the stupid drivers misreading 'One Direction' signs and believing they can only go in one direction.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

THIS IS AN ODD ONE - It can't be for health & safety reasons, as our isles must be among the widest in the country as they are?
And it won't be to appeal to 'richer' fans in the newer comfortable areas, as these are in level two - So why are City effectively reducing the capacity? Sounds like we could have actually been around 64000 eventually if it wasn't for this.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

interesting as I saw NOTHING in the planning application in relation to removal of aisle seats in the second tier UNLESS it will make them wide enough to split the aisle into haves and have nots - what block(s) are we talking?
