this collar site thing ... no idea what it is or where it is ... can someone point it out on a map for me please?

Gav it's the bit between Alan Turing way and the stadium, guessing it could also include the North carparks. My personal view is that the gas works will also be obtained by City for development combined with the collar , carparks and Gas works it could be a sizeable amount of land

Apologies if already discussed but to get an idea of the real size of that plot, what current thing could easily slot in there - eg 1 x Guggenheim Bilbao or 2 x Louvres etc, if you see what I mean?

To me, it looks like we'll be able to get some shops and a hotel on there and not much else, but then again I'm clearly no architect or visionary.

According to Wiki the Guggenheim occupies

a 32,500-square-meter (350,000 sq ft) site

Not sure what area the collar site is...

Me neither, just trying to get a grasp of what could really go in there as I imagine some of the suggestions about what's coming could be a little out-sized?

Had a look on Google maps and a rough estimate is that the site is about 500m long and perhaps 100m wide... Which would give an area of 50,000 square meters.

I think I posted these before the Academy site was even cleared on the original Las Vegas thread, but here's a comparison between space occupied by ALL of the Etihad Campus compared to two "world class visitor attractions" - check the scale on each picture - they are all the same
Etihad Campus

Disneyland Paris

Universal Studios Orlando

Not a lot of space left then, for a "world class visitor attraction"

Depends how high you want to build up ;)

In City's case, try the height of the new Etihad.
