I'm led to believe that the footfall through the store isn't what they originally planned for so it's actually not that profitable for them. Was there not some big housing estate planned which got cancelled?
Why do you claim that we're paying over the odds for the site twice? Are you ITK?

Th housing development was due to be buelt in the land that now houses the CFA.

City bought it off Redrow Homes through Brookshaw Developments i think. The owner of Redrow, Steve Morgan wasnt happy when he found out who had actually bought it

Morgan the Liverpool fan who has screwed over Wolves!

The very same

My mate who I used to work with on a 250 tonne mobile crane is currently in Edinburgh erecting a tower crane for select plant, the lads putting up the crane are (after erecting the Edinburgh crane) are of to Italy to erect a tower crane that is in august going to be erected at the etihad, its gonna be a bigun as the slew ring is 40 tonne according to the lads that are going to be putting it up, most tower cranes you may see around and about towns have a slew ring on average between 10 and 16 tonne...it's gonna be a meaty fukka...
What will happen at the Etihad between now and August? Foundations?

Do you think we'll notice anything different inside the ground when we return in August, other than maybe a big crane hovering overhead? The last row on the South Stand 2nd tier is going at some point

Has anyone got any more info on Asda re-locating? If this is indeed happening, surely the only possible explanation is that we are buying the plot to build on? There's no way they would shut down a perfectly profitable store that is 10 years old to move two miles down the road unless there was a huge incentive to do so.

Why would anyone else pay over the odds for that plot? There's plenty of land to develop in the surrounding area for housing / commercial property or whatever. Surely the only party that would pay over the odds for that plot is us because it is potentially strategically so important to us if we do indeed end up developing a huge attraction on the collar site.

Be interested to know if GX could confirm / not deny? ;-)

I was always told that Asda wouldn't budge even though City wanted it. However, I am now hearing that this maybe happening now. Not sure on the credibility of the source though as it is from within Asda and not the club. I'll see what I can dig up

Be good if we owned the land though as we would be able to host a car park...seems to be around the same size as the West Car Park by the gasometer which would then free up land to build on for other stuff...or build a new superstore with a car park the same size as the East Car Park...also can't see Maccy D's staying there as all it would get is custom on match days and from the Velodrome...

It will get business 365 days of the year once The Collar Site is complete

True, but surely they would rather be on the other side of the road...though I suspect there will be more "upmarket" eateries there...and there would have to be "another" bridge of course...and another thing...how often do they update Google Maps and other suchlike stuff...sick of seeing the Analine site!!

Have the plans for the Collar Site been finalised yet i.e. agreed with any third parties?

Thanks Kramer.

I knew I had seen it somewhere.

Interesting to see that preliminary work on pitch-side seats starts soon

Some reports keep quoting just the two ends, and a stadium capacity of 60k, but looks like we are going up to 62k.

Nothing for the public domain yet. There seems to be an increasingly likely possibility that the IP sales to an unnamed party may be linked to the collar site and it's being kept quite for confidentiality reasons until everything is signed, sealed and delivered.
