The four-time Ballon d'Or winner Leo Messi will train with Argentina at the Blues' Etihad Campus ahead of an Old Trafford meeting with Portugal.

the Argentina squad will set up camp at the club’s training facilities ahead of their Old Trafford friendly against Portugal next week.

Messi and Co will train for two days at City’s fabulous new Etihad Campus facility, and another two days at the old Carrington base, after arriving in Manchester this weekend.

City’s elite development squad might also take plenty of interest in the arrival of the Argentina squad which includes club-mates Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, Willy Caballero and Martin Demichelis, plus United star Di Maria.

The Albiceleste spent the early part of this week based in east London, training at West Ham’s Rush Green complex before they took on Croatia in a friendly at Upton Park.

And West Ham’s Under-21 team were even invited to join one training session, so the City youngsters will be keeping their fingers crossed.

And a Certain Carlitos Tevez

Just not good enough. You should have taken a better camera and stopped and taken some decent photos. What on earth were you thinking of.

Off with his head!

I'm getting the feeling that MCFC and MCC are being somewhat embarrassed by the phrase originally used in the partnership blurb telling everyone that there would be a 'world class' attraction.

May I be so bold as to suggest that money is no problem but Manchester's image and global standing is when searching for something world class?

For almost a decade the council tried and failed to get a partner for the collar site and ended up with a casino that many felt was morally objectionable.

Now, over a decade after the Commonwealth Games we seem to be no nearer finding out who will be the anchor tenant, the big name, the world class, eye watering addition to the campus.

I fear that it simply wont be as wow as we all hoped for originally.

Boddingtons World

Gets my vote.

We might not of gotten waterslides in the ground, but maybe Boddingtons World could include a boddingtons themed indoor water park with giant slides.

What is the difference between CFA and Etihad Campus?

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium Development and Collar Site (cont

Guessing.

Or, perhaps it's so wow that no party(MCC, NEM, MCFC, Architects, etc) related to the project will divulge any of it. We all know how tightly City run things. No company involved in the Collar site and Etihad Campus proposals will compromise their work and the huge rewards that come with it.

MEMO TO STAFF. SAY ANYTHING IN PUBLIC AND YOU'RE FIRED.

Let's be honest, there was little or no information regarding the new training academy and stadium expansion before news and details were released by the club. Yes there were plenty of rumours and some teasing snippets posted on here, but there was nothing concrete until the club decided to release details of both proposals.

I'm inclined to think whatever is planned is a game changer. Not only for East Manchester, but for Manchester in general. And while nothing seems to be happening as regards the Collar site and the Etihad Campus around the stadium, there is probably plenty going on behind the scenes that most of us just don't know about. I'm sure there is an army of Architects working on the proposals as we type, and have been doing so for quite a while.

Once again I'm guessing, but I don't see a start on the Collar site until the stadium expansion is complete. That will take us into 2016/17. With the training academy up and running, and the stadium expanded to 62,000, the club( and MCC) can concentrate on delivering the Collar site and Etihad Campus proposals.

From a personal point of view I have very faith ADUG/City, MCC/New East Manchester will deliver a spectacular proposal which will put the club and the city(Manchester) on the map for leisure destinations.

Personally think it should be a water park. You go to Blackpool and theirs can pull £80 a family. A bigger, better version would be in-keeping with Sport. It would attract young kids to the area and add the football world idea to it, along with the luxury hotel and maybe a small retail outlet with food/drinks etc and I think that would be great.
