The view from the front row will be non existent. Also what rows will they be? Presumably the current row A can't stay as A, unless they call these -A, -B, -C or some even dafter concept.

Incidentally has anyone up in 326 noticed that the aisle that links to 327 has the rows in 326 lettered 2 letters higher than those in 327?

I was up there for the Boro game and it caused chaos as day trippers walked up the aisle to find that the step they were on was row P to the left but row N to the right!

Madness!

ive herd there digging out the pitch so the view from these new seats will be like the front one's are at the moment, cant see any other way because as it is now you would not see over the advertising boards

As long as you can see the ball on the pitch, then those pitch side seats are fine.

My favourite seats were at the North Stand Maine Rd right at the front behind the goal. Seats were much closer to the goal than they are now, and you could hear the players, and the look on their faces. I'll never forget Andy Dibble. He always looked terrified.

Surely the advertising hoardings will be sunk into the ground. As long as they are angled up so that clearly visible for the cameras the no problem.

I take it the angled upright supports for the new roof ( the ones supported by ratchets) will be removed. If this is the case , what will hold the roof up ?

So there's a row of seats under the Nike banner? Cheers JRB, can't see that on TV. Wonder why seats put in? Unless they plan selling them next match? Do we have to have test match for any new capacity though?

They haven't "put them in" - they've always been there since 2003, they're the original front row that people were kicked out of from last summer so that it could be out of action while they dug down to add the extra 3 rows in front of that.

I'm not sure those advertising hoardings will go tbh. But if they don't, then I don't think fans from those seats can see the ball when it's on those sidelines. Unless they dig the ground deeper again but I just can't see that happening either.
Will be really interesting to see!

As promised.

Taken yesterday before the Hull match.(and another disappointing performance and result) Hopefully these pictures will lift the mood?

Looks really impressive in the flesh. The seats are starting to be put in on the new first 3 rows.

BTW. Can't fault my new camera.

37 Pictures. :)

Click o enlarge.
Anyone else seeing a pattern emerging here?

They have to install the sky hooks yet, they come towards the end of construction.

very funny...

they'll stay until the new cablenet poles and support cables are in place and supporting the roof

We're at the one minute thirteen mark at the moment on the official video
Five seconds later - you can see those new supports going in behind the stand
And then three seconds after that - the old roof is removed (in the close season I think)
