I take it the angled upright supports for the new roof ( the ones supported by ratchets) will be removed. If this is the case , what will hold the roof up ?

The Cablenet will just like it does at the moment Once the complete roof is in place it will become, like the current, a mono structure. If you check out the current cablenet supports you will then going through the new structure, this will be realigned and routed to pickup point on the new steelwork, look for what appears to be discs near the top.

ive herd there digging out the pitch so the view from these new seats will be like the front one's are at the moment, cant see any other way because as it is now you would not see over the advertising boards

Surely the advertising hoardings will be sunk into the ground. As long as they are angled up so that clearly visible for the cameras the no problem.

I'm not sure those advertising hoardings will go tbh. But if they don't, then I don't think fans from those seats can see the ball when it's on those sidelines. Unless they dig the ground deeper again but I just can't see that happening either.
Will be really interesting to see!
How would digging deeper help the sight lines from the front seats?

It would help, providing the hoardings are removed. If they stay, and the ball is on the neat touchline and the pitch is lower than it is now, then it would be even more awkward than it looks now

They have to install the sky hooks yet, they come towards the end of construction.
very funny...

they'll stay until the new cablenet poles and support cables are in place and supporting the roof

We're at the one minute thirteen mark at the moment on the official video
Five seconds later - you can see those new supports going in behind the stand
And then three seconds after that - the old roof is removed (in the close season I think)

At aroun 1 minute 20 seconds it looks like the trusses are removed, it shows a crane on the inside of the stadium doing this work. surely it would have to go onto the pitch for this to happen, if so i would have thought that would have been done at the end of the season but looking at the time line it doesnt seem to be the case.

The roof is removed pitch side over a period of 4 weeks at the end of the season. Complicated summer months as lot or work to-do on the pitch and surroundings.

There are two huge supporting structures being added to the top of the stand which will hold the roof in place using steel wires.

Its clear on that video the cable net for the old roof will sit under the new roof.
Even clearer (with some markup) on one of JRB's photos - all those coloured lines STAY until we choose to do the sides too

From the planning app - very clear on this one the two tier stringing - the lower remaining to retain the existing roof cablenet integrity, the high one supporting the new roof

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

just occurred to me - the line seems to match where the cheap seats are - above the net cheap, below the net not cheap!

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

The new seats pitchside in front of the East Stand, when do you think they will be released and at what price? Same or reduced?
