Following on from this thread this am I have checked with someone who does know exactly what is going on. Literally in the last hour.

Said that the club want to give one full season and ensure that the stadium is full and build up a pent up demand before starting the North Stand. Not withstanding works are ongoing to resolve power capacity issues in the meantime to allow the North Stand to progress at this time. If we are struggling to get close to capacity it may be delayed 1 further season at max.

Thanks for that, I won't say I told you so because I didn't , if you know what I mean :)

^^ Undoubtedly.
The amount of apartments and indeed houses planned for Manchester (never mind hotel rooms) is frightening.
Population is one of the fastest in Europe...football is as popular as ever...'no brainer' as they say.

Interesting that there'a a 60 storey skyscraper rumour going round at the moment. Although some have suggested the Collar site as a possible location, I think that's possible wide off the mark.
Good to see Manchester's just about keeping ahead of Tirana in the growth stakes.

"Tirana is at the sort of level we are aspiring to."

from a selfish point, i wont be too upset if its held back a season, hopefully i can keep my seat on level 2 a while longer before being priced out

The only ones to be priced out next season are level 2 east stand, from half way line to south stand. And level 2 Colin Bell stand from halfway line to south stand.
This is due to the number of relocations required from the whole of level 2, plus the number of £100 depositors is far more than the south stand level 3 can hold.
That is why the level 2 concourse works are really moving on at pace at this end of the ground but barely started at the other end.
The remaining level 2 movers will eventually be relocated in the extended north stand.

A few top class signings and the team not fucking about would have the stadium full!

Do you know more about these works? All we know in CB2 is that the concourse gets narrower each week - bordering on dangerous as you come down the aisle ramps.

It's not / it's all to do with number of toilets for corporates - concourse on level 2 is a bit shit now.

It`s all to do with making the whole of level 2 corporate, and only allowing the prawn sandwich brigade access.
The existing outlets will be demolished and relocated on the opposite side, under the stand.
Allowing a more open feel to the concourse.
The current alcoves, where the bars are now, will have seating fitted and telly`s and also have waiters and waitress`s to take your orders.

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

That really does sound like a sad, sorry state of affairs.

Hopefully the magnitude of the new TV deals and the relative chicken feed of ticket income in comparison will scale back some of this.

If not, within 10 years I predict an implosion when people at grounds and back home watching realize that there is next to zero passion or soul left in the English game.

Its bad enough at most grounds now.... imagine the Etihad in 2 years time at home against a Fulham type team... Jesus

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

My partner and step daughter thought they were safe.(level 2)

They informed me tonight they aren't, and will have to move as they can't afford the new prices on level 2 next season.

Both aren't happy about moving, as they like their seats and the view of the match, but what can they do?

Take it they sit in the South end of level 2, I would advise them to relocate to the North end of level 2 for next season. With luck City will be pushed to fill the extended S/S, then hopefully the N/S rebuild will go on the back burner or better still be tossed into the long grass.
