Austin Ambassador? Austin fucking Ambassador!!! None of that Brummy Longbridge shite here - that's a classic Dagenham Dustbin otherwise known as Ford Cortina MkV (Cortina 80 for the nitpickers) - the very end of the line too, probably a Crusader model

Not wanting to be padantic but the Term Dagenham Dustbin was actually coined for the Ford Zypher 6 (the big Square one) as it rotted like an apple.

The car that dates the picture is actually the Ford Sierra further up the line

That superb pic was taken no earlier than 1983, the red car behind the lamp-post has a "Y" reg plate.

I still miss those floodlights, you could see them from miles away, a real Manc landmark.
