Someone (might have been Stony) posted about this a good while ago. Seems they need a special crane or rig to do this and there are only a handful of these around. So it's not worth getting one in just to change a couple of bulbs. So we might have to wait until they've all gone before we do it, if we do it at all.
Should just use that big crane to do it while it's there, just get a bloke on rope to dangle from it, no probs :)
That's how they've assembled the roof, not dangling from a rope but suspended in a cage, dangling from a crane ! Expect to see Danny Forster up there !

Expect to find a few balls from some of Dzeko's shots up there too ;)

Wonder if they will ever put blue lights at the top of the masts again.
Often wondered how they'd replace the bulbs in one of them when it went.

They're lamps, not bulbs. You get bulbs from a garden centre..

Sorry, I work in the lighting industry, and its just one of my pet hates - bulbs, aka daffodils, grrr..

:)

You'll have to put up with that pet hate for the rest of your life... can't see anyone ever saying they had a "light lamp moment"!!!

A bit late. Posted the pictures on SSC first, hence the description. Left it in for those blues on here who aren't 100% sure what's going on, etc.

Stadium update.

Walking up to the stadium.

First picture from Ashbury Train Station(zoom), then from the new sports centre, and then from the houses and walkway(1 already posted) close to the ground.

Clio enlarge.

The next set show the exterior/cladding/windows of the South Stand. The last two show the back of the stand, showing the stand with and without one of the two new roof supports.(showing a perspective) The last picture shows just how big/tall the new South Stand looks/is. The ground level of the stand is below the raised wall at street level, and hoardings behind that.

Not down here mate , you would have been putting 'globes' in your light fittings.

They refer to an autumn opening. Thought it was supposed to be ready for the start of next season?
Manchester City's new, expanded South Stand is nearing completion and is pencilled in for an autumn opening.
The 6,000 seater extension now towering above one end of the ground is on schedule, but no date has been set for its opening.

Bloody hate the "lamps/bulbs/globes" industry. It used to be that you had to keep one 60w "bulb" as a spare and you were fine.

Now there are 9 different types of "lamps/bulbs/globes" required in my house. All requiring a spare.

I blame it all on Yaya in the first place and when Nasri came along NONE of them worked for longer than. 5 minutes.

Surely lamps are what you put bulbs in?

Re: Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Threa

Expect our first 3 or 4 fixtures to be away next season. The close season was always the pinch point for the construction programme. Interface of the pitch access required to remove the roof and the pitch treatment required.

Whilst the lamp or bulb argument has its merits, surely these two posts are rather more fitting, and worthy of discussion in this thread ?
