The new stand is the absolute biggest it could possibly be. That's because the original roof cable net restricted the stand going just that little bit higher.

The new design allows the original supports to feed its cables through the gap between the new roof and the top of the stand. If the stand were any higher then this would not be possible.

Has there been any plans / artists pics of the concourse and facilities of the new 3rd tier south stand?
will there just be one concourse (this would get packed out surely!? or have they planned a split level concourse like sunderland have?
anyone ITK??

Just a small one. The roofs of both the East and West stands of the main stadium now have massive Etihad Stadium decals on them like the main campus building and academy stadium. They can be seen as you approach the ground from the gas cylinder north end

There is a brocher type "New Stand.pdf" somewhere on the club site which is 37 pages long. If anyone can find it they could post a link.

I've had it on my desk top for more than a year now, but don't no how to upload it on to here.

Its full of artist impressions and plans.

Not sure at present we are gonna fill this stadium when completed, we need the "feel good factor" back .

A couple of marquee signing wouldn't go a miss.

Comparing the new stand,just wondering going back to main rd(new kippax) was so high how would most compare this new stand to it

why the "??"

It's quite straight forward, or in years time will people refer to our current ground as the tihad?

Typo or not, bugs me when people do this to our beloved 80 year stadium...

Went to the stadium this morning on my way to the station.

They are set to put up the roof joining pieces for the other side today, so if anyone wants to see it go up get down there.

Wasn't it said that wasn't happening yet as they were keeping that space open to get the crane on the pitch and the old roof off/out ?

That was me. Must have been misinformed because the piece was there ready to be put up on Saturday which surprised me! Unless the current gap in the new roof in the middle has been left to build the crane and that's what the guy i spoke to meant?

I think it's the gap in the centre of the roof as that's been there for a fortnight now
