The leonardo is ok, I’ve stayed there a couple of times, you get a half view of the Etihad, and a good breakfast, normally available on Groupon etc, easily walkable, with good transport options, but that might be as good as it gets for the average fan. I normally stay over when we have a Sunday/midweek game as the rates are decent in most hotels in town….but I think the club will go for a real statement hotel, let’s face it they could fill it on match days & gigs with VIP’s etc, if they offered underground/direct access from the Etihad & Co-op live to a five star plus hotel with equivalent restaurants, maybe a casino then they’d be onto a winner, most artists have huge entourages and players & club officials would have somewhere to site their friends & families. Security & privacy are the two biggest issues when money isn’t a problem, which I’m sure they could offer. I don’t see the club offering packages to games & gigs with a 3-4 star hotel tagged on the end

City will charge the going rate depending on the star rating of the proposed hotel. They may offer a 5% or 10% discount rate for season ticket holders and Citizen membership card holders? Like the rest of the business, the hotel has to make a profit. City certainly won’t be discounting rooms for people attending the Coop Live Arena concerts and events.
I didn’t suggest they would. My point was that a single hotel will not satisfy demand. We need multiple units to be attracted.

Thats assuming it’s a hotel ran by City. More likely I’d have thought the hotel would be owned by City and a lease charged to a hotel company to actually run and set prices. That may or may not include agreements they make with either City or CO- OP on any discounts / packages.

I never said you did. I was just thinking aloud.

City will probably build one hotel to start off with, see what the demand is like, and if the hotel is constantly full via matches, concerts, events, conferences, etc, then they’ll probably build another hotel. It also depends on the size of the hotel and how many rooms it has. One hotel with 100-200 rooms could be enough? With 2 hotels City can cater for different budgets and requirements, City fans, concert goers, tourists and visitors to Manchester, business people, conference people, artists, etc.

The 4 hotels near the Trafford Centre always seem to be rammed.

I will be using the Hotel, I don't wish to share it with the type of scouse who were in my digs in Leicester for the Charity shield.
Certainly 100 +, may keep it safe.
Red Dippers are usually only around once a season and are unlikely to stay in a CITY hotel

Stayed at the Holiday Inn right next door to Oxford Utd. Very convenient for a night game with free parking too. 2019 seems like a decade ago now.
