The leonardo is ok, I’ve stayed there a couple of times, you get a half view of the Etihad, and a good breakfast, normally available on Groupon etc, easily walkable, with good transport options, but that might be as good as it gets for the average fan. I normally stay over when we have a Sunday/midweek game as the rates are decent in most hotels in town….but I think the club will go for a real statement hotel, let’s face it they could fill it on match days & gigs with VIP’s etc, if they offered underground/direct access from the Etihad & Co-op live to a five star plus hotel with equivalent restaurants, maybe a casino then they’d be onto a winner, most artists have huge entourages and players & club officials would have somewhere to site their friends & families. Security & privacy are the two biggest issues when money isn’t a problem, which I’m sure they could offer. I don’t see the club offering packages to games & gigs with a 3-4 star hotel tagged on the endQuick check.
