Who are they though? for the club to buy and develop them would be a huge outlay and risk and could any income even be included in our accounts, the fact no other property developers seem to want to take that risk suggests it isn’t the best idea to me.

Around a dozen gasholders across the country are listed, however, and several in London’s King’s Cross have been turned into luxury apartments, with the frames remaining as part of the design. In parts of Greater Manchester, such as Bolton and Stretford, the structures have been dismantled and torn down.

I think a two tier North Stand could end up looking something like Glanmores Gap at the Millennium Stadium. Coincidentally, it is also at the Northern end of the stadium like it would be at the Etihad. Of course some things would be different like the connection to the roof and to the corners of the East/Colin Bell Stands but the general stand would be similar looking.

Going to busy summer around the stadium

The proposed dismantling work is anticipated to last approximately 18 months, potentially starting in May 2023, which may then conclude in November 2024. Note however this is an estimate and the works can be carried out within five years of the grant of prior approval.

The gasholders being gone would be weird but acceptable. Wouldn't be better to redevelop the fire station and fit it into our club's community improvement than spend years on bureaucracy trying to strip gasholders and turn them into overpriced flats?
