Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

I should have taken a look first before writing the above, seems its going to City Football Group
MCFC will be allocated a share of the profits and will also be able to cash in on joint sponsorship packages for football/music etc. The hotel will also provide such opportunities. You can sell a whole corporate weekend package to companies. It may even open up for large conference events. It's a fantastic commercial move by the club. No wonder the red-shirt crooks are trying to sabotage everything we do.

If you're happy to continue driving then you have the option of Eccles (Ladywell P&R) and getting the tram straight in, probably get a seat too. That's just 2 zones so will cost you £10.50 for all 3 of you. Another option is Parkway P&R on the trafford line but you'd have to change trams midway. Or even the Trafford Centre is an option, but that's 3 zones so £12.90 total. Yes, you'll be facing a longer journey but we all are. I'm in GM and it's costing me £4.90 (4 zones) and I have to contend with trying to squeeze into an already congested tram in the centre of town, so think yourself lucky ;)
And therein lies the problem. Getting there is less of an issue. Getting away on the tram is another story. The queue on Saturday was trailing all the way back to where it opens out around the stadium.
Many have suggested different solutions. What the answer is, lord only knows.

There are also facilities within the stadium that will give City income City Square and Town Square plus the office space

My thought was to bring public transport back into the hands of local councils ie the old MCTD but on second thoughts we don't have the old fashioned councilors who cared.

What about Northern Rock? I worked for them until 2005. The financial crisis was nothing to do with NR, other than to spread some panic to the masses. It was Lehman Brothers and the US mortgage-backed bonds that caused the global meltdown.
Get back on topic fellows, privatisation ruined this country years ago ! Let's concentrate on what the sites name is, wether we get better transport links or not in 3 years will have 7k extra fans at games an 30k plus at the arena events so we'll just have to suck it up ! It wasn't that long ago folks were complaining that nothing has happening on the collar site but I suppose you can't please everyone ! The parking restrictions probably had to be put in place to enable planning permission to get the go ahead .

Remember we were all given the opportunity to comment during the consultation period?

So we should all walk to/from town and/or use public transport? I'm sure there are many in my position, but to highlight why I drive to games. Because it's the only viable option.

On any given game, there are usually 3 of us travelling from Warrington. Ignoring fuel costs, it costs me £8 to park off-campus. Using public transport, the 3 of us would have to trek into Warrington (taxi or bus), get a train into Mcr (if the fuckers decide to turn up or there isn't a strike), then taxi/tram or walk to the stadium. On a good day, that's at least £60 between us and 90+ mins each way. By car it's typically half the time and it's door-to-door.

So glad I completed the questionnaire to have my points completely ignored.
I hear the frustration I feel it myself, id be interested to hear what you feel City can do themselves realistically , as it seems to me the majority of the what we would wish for is either out of our control or unrealistic
